I'd never get the hype about this place, yes the atmosphere is nice Aesop but that's about it I Guess. TIP, The Ice Cream Project is just beside it & Sangkaya at its direct opposite which are much better. 🖖🏻

The skin of the duck is so paper thin Crispy, upon first encounter I initially thought I saw Pork at the side of the plate but no it's duck. Dipped with the accompanying sauce... 🤤

I also went bonkers as I thought I was eating roasted pork, it's Juicy & Crispy till I learnt from the lady boss that the sauce contains Lard. And that is why Pork is King. Sorry Okja, next time. 🖖🏻

If you’re in Singapore & there are two Chicken Rice places, & there’s one with a huge line, go to the one with the huge line. Already, that’s a clue. If a place is crowded, but the people lining up are not local, that’s a clue—a bad clue . .

If it doesn’t have signs in English. it’s almost always worth investigating. I look to see if locals are willing to inconvenience themselves & wait in line for a long time to get something that only costs a Dollar or Two, especially if it’s a mixed bag of different incomes. 🏵

One of the things that’s interesting about Singapore is that you’ll see people roll up in a Mercedes/BMW & stand on line behind someone who lives in a housing project. They’re both gonna wait the 30 minutes or so for the same nasi lemak. 🖖🏻

Yes, many if not all go for their Banana Cake but give their buns a go too especially their Coconut Buns 椰包 (5 Buns - RM5/💵S$1.70) 🍞
Freshly baked, every cakes & buns are sold pipping hot. It's one of the better coconut buns I've had, slightly burnt exterior with roasted shredded coconuts. 🤤

ACAMASTIPS & GTK💮: Do come early to get the Banana Cakes as it is baked by batches & sold out in a blink of an eye. And please, let the pipping Hot banana cake rest for awhile before devouring it. ☕️ Moist, Fragrant & not too Sweet, leave it to rest & it gets even better. You know you are at the right place (or hyped??) due to the absurd number of Singaporeans as locals hardly even patronise the place anymore. 🖖🏻

The curry is light & palatable. The Fish Head is Fresh, with lots of Flesh & cooked remarkably well upon order.
The best part have to be Cheek & of course the Fried Beancurd Skin soaking up all the glorious curry sauce that you can drink easily without being too sick of it. 🤤.

There are clues when a place is particularly exceptional;
They occupy a large or entire venue,
They only have 1 or limited menu options that they specialise in,
A snaking queue that consist of majority locals & the occasional tourists,
Almost if not all of the tables ordered the exact same item,
They aren't pressurise by the number of patrons & take their time to make the product. 🖖🏻

But it ain't as wonderful as Angelica (of course everything wonderful seems to be named after a woman) 😋

However I have a tinge that some may prefer this to Angelica. Well the lady boss told me that all the duck are cooked & served the same way, it's just the different sauce they use to garnish it. 🖖🏻

The Yuzu used here has a artificial after taste, one does feel cheated, vanilla Soft Serve is too sweet & generally a bad service experience. Okay at least they bothered to use fresh fruits. 🖖🏻

The cook on the duck is near perfection, glistening skin, flavourful fat & moist meat. But it's the Angelica Herbs sauce that stole the whole show. 🤤
