Not sure what’s with me and mala these days.
So i walked into this place since i needed lunch before my arm balance workshop.
(Im regretting my decision as im typing this, 🔥🔥🔥)
💸 : $14.45
💭👅:😐
Meh. Sorry.
I actually liked the rice noodles the most (i guessed they were successful with this cux i got attracted by the rice noodles)
🐮 - the taste is acceptable but it seems to be lacking something. Served in a cube, i tot a bigger cube might be better.
🍜 - the mixed is the less spicy option but it seems to be lacking some taste. The good thing is, it doesnt have 1cm of chilli oil on the top. The rice noodles were really good with a little QQ bite.
I guess this place is really new. Gotta wait for the soup base to boil a little longer i guess 🤷🏻♀️
I love dimsum & appreciate a good cheong fun!!!
This is so awesome that i will have cravings for it 😋 im glad its soooo near to Evolve 😛
Aunty was really friendly and was so grateful that I brought my juniors today.
💸: $7, NO GST NO SERVICE CHARGE 👍🏻
👅💭: 😍 Easily my favourite, my go-to for fresh & legit cheong fun! Packed with fresh ingredients, and generous sauce, the super thin rice roll is a simple delicacy to your taste bud - so soft & smooth. Every single serving is prepared upon order. Havent had any cheong fun in SG that is better than this! I think i can almost eat here everyday 😂🤣
*Signature: Prawn Roll with Egg, $7.50
Personally, i prefer the one without the egg. The egg changes the texture of the rice roll, making it slightly chunkier and quite a lot firmer. Maybe im just more traditional with foods.
Impt to Note: Defo gota get the 老干妈 Dried chilli flakes in oil, my favourite kind of chilli, from the sides 😍
Dont like chicken with skin & bones.
Seafood at the chicken place 🙃
👅💭: 😊 taste wise it was quite nice. I like the rice wine n garlic taste.
However...i found many little crabs (lala’s food) in my plate too....i had to pick them out to the side. Maybe i havent been too aware previously but i never had mini crabs in my lala before!! 🤔 i didnt like the sight laaaa
Ordered take away to cut the wait. Was told 30mins but my food wasnt ready until about an hour later. Hungry humans are nasty!
Service: HORRIBLE!
The cashier lady kept asking the wait staff to pack our lala 1st but was ignored. Doesnt help to know that my beehoon had been sitting there, turning cold, while the kitchen staff was slowly preparing each plate of lala, picking each shell by hand, weighing & counting the numbers per plate.
💸: $16 for 15 pieces of lala. Though each lala was bigger than usual, its still pretty ex.
👅💭: 😍
Fortunately or unfortunately, the lala were really good. Even though they cooked a huge wok all together, it was yum! The lala were fresh and succulent. The sauce was a little spicy from the chilli padi, and the garlic was not overpowering - making you wana have everything else with it.
Its pretty annoying that they do serve delicious food cause i’ll have to suck it up with their lousy service and pay for their food when i return. I will definitely reserve a table the next time i decide to pop by. 😕
The attraction began when i was just minding my own business, on my way to Sekxy. The aroma of roasted delights filled the air at Claymore Hill. Smells of an authentic, yummy HK roast, hungrysss!
The taste of the roast duck is not bad, but the fact that i cant order an atas plate of roasted duck noodle after 5pm by itself, 😕 cux i had no intentions of spending so much money. The crispness of the duck skin was not consistent BUT it was still acceptable cause the duck was not very fat, so i was happy to eat it just like that and not scrape the fats off.
The duck lover sausage was nice cuz it was not too salty and is pretty fragrant. It was my favourite dish for the evening - #noskillsinvolved
The extra noodles we ordered was QQ and seasoned sufficiently to compliment the meats. BUT it is still considered a plate of plain noodles! 😦
💸 Total Bill: $78ish for 2
½ Roasted Duck : $29.80
Cured Goose Lover Sausages:$8.80
Braised Noodles with Green Onion & Ginger: $6.80
Poached Seasonal Vegetable: $7.80
2 Beverages : $3.80 each
(Exclusive of GST & Service)
Verdict: 🙂 To be honest, the food is pretty decent but i was underwhelmed. Maybe my expectations were too high for its price-tag. I would still very much prefer the duck 🍗 that i get from the uncle at the kopitiam and heat it up in my oven myself at a much cheaper price g#cheapotastebuds
Its a place that I'll probably be happy to dine at again with requested by good a company.
AUD $50 gives u the best dining experience in the humble chinese restaurant, Yiche. However, a reservation has to made and remember to request for the $50 banquet! The best value with the best ingredients in the house. Here we have roast duck (done in house), quail, satay BBQ prawns, fresh n succulent steamed scallops, pork belly bao (bao is homemade) and zucchini roast. #sharondoesnteatporkbelly so YES, i actually finished this pork belly. Crispy and yum yum.
