This definitely piqued my interest because houjicha was listed as one of the ingredients and the drink was a brainchild of great bartenders Jerrold and Yao Lu.
Intense, complicated flavours going on (it was recommended that we started off with something else first and thankfully we had) and the Guiness reduction was divine. I loved hearing the story of how the drink came about from the man (Jerrold) himself. Great cocktail, with a greater story to boot. Plus, you get to keep the tiny bottle as a souvenir too, with the wood for aging and a very nice design on.

I'm not usually someone who visits the same bar twice, but for the Flagship, I'd gladly make an exception. Unpretentiously good ambience that got better the longer we stayed, and I promise it wasn't (just) cos of the booze. Excellent bartenders (thanks Jerrold and Vic!! You guys were awesome to say the least) who got me even more interested in their world of whiskey which they're very clearly passionate about. It was my first time there, but there were many regulars, and I can see myself being one too. Bar seats (very highly) recommended!

I am embarrassed to admit that this was my first time having this well loved classic; I guess whiskey was never my choice of alcohol until very recently. So I don't exactly know what makes a good one, but I enjoyed the one here! The taste of whiskey was apparent, but not overwhelming.
I mean, if they call themselves the "Home of the Old fashioned", and are by the people behind the likes of Jigger & Pony to substantiate it, I believe I was in good hands.

So Hot & Cold might have gotten all the love (even the friendly staff raved about that one instead), but this was easily my favourite drink of the night.
This was refreshing and the tangy and creamy yoghurt complemented the liquor well. What I couldn't get however, was the frozen yoghurt beads in the white chocolate bowl- they were tasteless except for the familar sourness of yoghurt, but completely unsweetened, so it wasn't my favourite to eat. But overall, this was a really enjoyable drink that you'll want to take time to savour down to the last drop.

Having read so much about it, and it being written as one of OD's classics on the menu, this was of course, a must-order.
Have it immediately and you'll soon see how apt its name is. A warm luscious thick foam seperates your lips from the cold liquid, and it all goes so well together. I can see how this is a crowd favourite, though I daresay it felt more like a liquid dessert more than a cocktail.

The drink arrived with a piece of cucumber beautifully embedded with toasted sesame seeds. This might have reminded some of the local hawker favourite chicken rice, but to me, it brings me back to my local street food favourite, rujak cingur, in Indonesia. The cucumber really sets the tone for this drink, because it'll evoke different memories for everyone, and that's the fun part. šŸ˜‰

This is my newfound favourite of all the flavours I've tried from their list of martinis (I think I must have tried at least 5).
The bartender recommended this over my initial choice of the Bangkok Martini because he said the latter was an acquired choice. I was all ready to be a daredevil and get the Bangkok one because well, YOLO, but I'm really glad I listened to him instead because this was such a delight. The lemon made the drink incredibly refreshing and easy to drink, despite it being slightly strong.

Comes with 2 full lychees! I was hesitant in ordering this at first, because I don't fancy my drinks sweet but thankfully it wasn't overly so!

Standard drink, but I really love the design of this place! Like the name suggests, the interior depicted a scene from an alley; look up and there are even shophouse windows to capture the feel! A pity that it was too dark for me to capture the beautiful interior, but this is a very lovely place to kick back and unwind if not for the ambience alone.

We saw so many people holding on to a tray of these so of course we were curious. And when we bit into it, we could finally see why.
Chicken wings are always foolproof sides, but this has got to be one of the better ones I've had! They were fried so crisp that you could hear a satisfying crunch with every bite. It was juicy inside too, and while the salted egg yolk could be richer in tasting, it complemented the wings beautifully.

Love the ambience as well; nice to unwind with perhaps some booze in a comfortable airconditioned setting near the CBD, along with a variety of food stalls to choose from šŸ». Definitely a good alternative if you have no feels for Korean/Japanese along the bustling Tanjong Pagar Road!

This was a little strong tasting, though I suspect it's because I told the bartender I'm not a fan of sweet liquor. Still this was pretty good, though I'd stick with my newfound love aka the Choya.

This was actually my first taste of Choya (I know, I know, I'm ashamed of myself too) and wow does it live up to the hype. This drink was refreshing, had a good balance of sweet and sour and all around a great drink to give you a slight buzz. Oh and the whole plum! Yum yum. In my tum. (Ok time to stop).

This was the highlight of our meal. Tender, juicy meat with a glistening layer of fats and topped off with the crispiest skin. You know it's good when you hear a (very) satisfying crunch as you bite into it.
Best eaten with white rice and I can imagine, an icy cold beer (which isn't sold here, but Kris the owner recommends buying some/getting from the bar a few doors away).

I followed my heart & it led me to the fridge.
