Perhaps we should have ordered like half a roasted duck rather than the mixed meat platter. Noodles in the black sauce tasted good and springy. 2 noodles, 1 rice, 1 steamed fish head, 1 roasted meat platter and 1 pot of soup: All for RM 104 to feed 4 adults. Cheap I would say!
Arriving at 10am at Restoran Gim Cheng and the place was already crowded. Find a table on your own and they will give you the order chit. Gim Cheng serves relatively cheap dim sum. It cost us only RM 81 for all these and a few additional dishes with 3 bowls of porridge, and a pot of Chinese tea.
Conveniently located just within KSL city mall. Even if you can't get seats, you can just buy takeaway and have it back in the hotel room! Most of all, it's about half the price of SG's!
Don't go stingy on the bee hoon! It's really addictive! 5 adults and 1 child, we had 2 large plates. If you patronise during peak hours, you would need to wait for ~ 45 mins for your additional order to be served.
Piping hot soupy breakfast was just right after a late night. There was already a queue by the time we reached at about 9am (maybe about 3rd group in line). The service is good and fair, they made you queue first then find seats for you. Serving was generous with sliced pork, minced meat, pig's liver, pig's kidney, fish maw and pork lard. The soup was fragrant too! If you don't like soup, you can opt for the dry version which comes with chilli and vinegar by default. Each bowl comes in 3 sizes: RM7, RM10 (as in photo) and RM15.
This wanton mee is located within walking distance from KSL City. I didn't quite like the noodles because they were rather thick. But the chili and wantons were good. They sell wanton noodles in 3 sizes (only increase portion of noodles not ingredients): RM5, RM5.50 and RM6. You can go for the fried wanton too which is really addictive at RM4 for 20 pcs.
