Wasn't sure what to expect when I first heard that Seoul Garden had a section that offered cooked food because I know Seoul Garden (the buffet) was not really known for being the most authentic K-BBQ restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the Bibimbap I had! It tasted really good and it was a very generous serving (good to share if you're not a big eater because I couldn't finish this by myself!). Plus, there was free flow of sides so if you love your kimchi, you know what to do! The Marinated Chicken Bibimbap was also super good, possibly even better than the bulgogi one in my opinion!
Expensive, but extremely worth the price! While the majority of customers at Yoogane were relishing on the Chicken Galbi hot plate, we decided to go for the seemingly less popular option of the bulgogi hot plate. It came in raw, with leeks, onions and carrots, as well as an assorted array of dokboki while the service staff skillfully cooked the contents of the dish for us. Taste wise, this dish was very flavourful and we really enjoyed the different dokboki rice cakes like the mozzarella stuffed one, and my personal favourite was the Sweet Potato Dokboki that actually contained sweet potato within the rice cake. We added in one serving of ramen noodle as well that was very satisfactory and well integrated into the hot plate. Another thing that I enjoyed thoroughly at Yoogane was the free flow of side dishes. They offered things like kimchi, pickled radish and a salad but I have to say that the kimchi definitely deserves a special mention for truly being an appetite opener!
I was honestly quite disappointed in the Egg Roll served at Yoogane. It wasn't bad but it was a very plain and simple egg dish that did not match up to the expectation created by what was shown on the menu. Given that the egg was well cooked and quite light and fluffy it was really just a regular dish that I personally did not feel was worth the $9.90 (before taxes). If you enjoy and appreciate simple egg dishes topped off with the classic tomato sauce however, you might enjoy this more than I did!
