NOODLES 🍜
think i’ve found my new favourite pho place. the broth was super tasty and clean, and the chicken was really delicious and tender! 😍
lovely hole-in-the-wall atmosphere and it’s a gem, really. would definitely come by again ♥️
The 70-year-old famous bak chor mee from Hong Lim is at Bukit Batok!

I love the springy noodles that's coated with the sauces, tangy vinegar and chilli. The ingredients was also very shiok - minced meat and lean meat was porky; wanton was plump with generous fillings, fried sole fish which lifted the dish with umami. The teochew dumpling soup was genuinely flavoured without the typical artifical msg taste, so I could drink them freely. Tip: add extra vinegar, self service.

Now there's one more place for Westerners to support our local food 😋

😉 If not, why not check out Ah Bong's Italian that's conveniently located a stone's throw away from Bugis MRT. Well-known for their pasta, expect new surprises with their daily rotational menu! Psst: there's also an outlet at tiong bahru hawker centre but it's ceasing operations on 28 feb! 😢😢
My dad's modanyaki, which tasted really good too. Japanese mayo makes everything taste better 😍
The skin of the chicken thigh has the perfect crispiness and it goes well with the spaghetti and the black pepper sauce. We finished every single bit of it! 😋

Famished? Or harbouring a bottomless pit? Get the Set B ($14++). It comes with a bowl of ramen of your choice (the soup of their classic is fabulous but if you like to feel some heat, go for the spicy) plus a small bowl of rice topped with a large piece of chashu, a helping of pork belly pieces and half an onsen egg. I would not consider their meats spectacular but for the price of the set, it's worth it.
The pride taken to execute this dish is evident - noodles are tossed in the sauce to ensure that the flavour is balanced, the melt-in-your-mouth cha shu is bathed in a sweet/savory gravy and every item is placed precisely for the Instagram-worthy photo op. Be prepared to queue 30mins for this, but if you've never tried it before, it's definitely worth the wait! #burpple #hawkerfood #hawkerpedia
