I Will Be Back!!

Tucked away at a corner in Zhongshan Mall, this restaurant couldn’t be more obscure. I’m sharing it because we had such a great experience there that it would be a waste not to discover this place! Besides their other typical middle-eastern dishes, this Fish Singary ($95) is an off-the-menu item that you HAVE TO TRY. And I didn’t make a mistake with the name, nor the price. No, it’s not stingray (I don’t know about you but I kept reading the name that way intially). And yes, it’s pricey. But it’s so good, it’s absolutely worth the money!!! Incredibly fresh, plump red snapper that just falls apart when you dig into it with a fork, served with prawns on a hot pan with a bubbling, spicy, tangy and savory sauce. It is such a feast for the senses. Despite this being served at the end of the meal, we felt like we couldn’t get enough of it! TRY.IT. This dish is only available via pre-order.

Always loved their food, and once again they didn't disappoint :) @lunarcoffeebrewers serves a variety of #fusion #ricebowls, but we went straight for the Miso Nori #Salmon #Soba ($14.50). A generously portioned poached salmon sat atop a tasty marinated soba base topped with a delicious seasoning and in-house miso nori butter. A perfect #onsenegg and pickled ginger sealed the deal. Such a perfect blend of flavors! #burpple

Not that much more expensive than Yoshinoya, but you get incredible value in this bowl! Perfectly marinated slices of beef that are delightfully tender. The juice literally drips into the rice, coating it with flavor and every mouthful packs a punch. The portion of beef is super generous, and despite the bowl looking small, you are almost certain to be satiated when you reach the end of it.

Finally had a chance to try their poké bowls which were sooo good. The Yuzu Bliss ($7.45 after discount) was hands-down my favorite, especially with the tea-infused rice at the Pasarbella outlet, and we always never fail to order the Sunkissed Salmon ($8.45 after discount). #burpple

The cosy restaurant was packed with locals even before 6pm when we arrived - a good indication of its authenticity. We thoroughly enjoyed the piping hot Gamja Tang Signature pork rib stew ($46) which was deliciously flavourful and rich #burpple

The Roast Duck with Red Curry is one of my favourites, with its delicious coconut-y flavour that is well-balanced with other spices. For chilli padi lovers, challenge yourselves with the "normal" spicy tomyam soup that will give you that powerful kick to make even the most seasoned chili fans sweat 👍🏼🔥 #burpple #thai #redcurry

Layered roasted soybean soft serve interspersed with crunchy rice crisps, smooth, puréed azuki and topped with Shirotama and Warabi Mochi coated with kinako powder. Matchaya does an incredible job with its roasted flavours, and with its delicious smokey aroma, Kinako is definitely one of my favourites in their collection! #matchayasg #softserve #burpple

Very generous portion of pork slices roasted in a tasty marinade, buried in rice noodles tossed in fish sauce and topped with a mix of veggies, peanuts and crispy shallots. We would've liked it to be served hot though...it was served really quickly so I'm kinda wondering if it was all pre-made. It was a filling and yummy bowl nonetheless! #burpple

What are the odds. I can't quite believe that it took me so long (probably a couple of years?) before I finally landed myself at @statelandcafe because it simply blew my mind when every single item on the menu sounded appealing. #notkidding. We were spent the longest time in a dilemma before...unanimously deciding that we were all going to order the Hainanese Chicken Rice Risotto ($20) 😂 I haven't had chicken rice in, what, years again probably? And it was a wonderful feeling digging into this dish. A deliciously accurate makeover of the much-loved hawker dish: tender, juicy white chicken ✔️ fragrant rice ✔️ kickass chili 💥✔️. This was SHIOK. It was incredibly filling, yet so addictive that it was hard to resist. Value-for-money too, as prices are met and you get a free drink too (even for dinner)! They might have looked small, but we were absolutely stuffed at the end of the meal! Lots of love for the sweet-savoury beef #bulgogi especially, and I do recommend the #kimchi #jjigae and andong #jjimdak as well. #burpple
