Tabao-ed 2 slices of crepe from Nadeje back to the hotel to continue pigging. Order the premium cheese and cafe mocha flavoured crepe cake. The premium cheese crepe turn out too "hard core" ( it's almost like eating the cheddar cheese raw but battered into cream texture). On the other hand, the mocha one is just right. A mix of chocolate cream, coffee cream and bits of chocolate chip! Yum yum! (Also recommended: the green tea and banana chocolate crepe which I had the previous trip) The cost of each slice is between myr 14-17 depending on the flavour you choose. xoxo, wet tissue no have
The oozy orh nee comes in 3 sizes. Order 1 small orh nee (myr 10.60) for each person. At first they recommended that we share 1 small orh need for 2 people but it is simply not enough! The orh nee here is the olden days diluted type. But it is so yummy I think I can eat 3 bowls myself. The yam paste goes so well with the sweetness in the pumkin. I'm still drooling as I type this. For myr 9.50, it's great deal for 6 pieces of good old fashion Teochew Ngo Hiang! The Ngo hiang is jam packed with seasoned minced meat and assorted vege bits for the crunch! The fluffy outer bean curd skin makes it almost irresistible! Don't forget to spam the sweet sauce! Xoxo, wet tissue 80cent (myr)
The braised stewed duck (myr 17) is served as huge chunk bite size cut. The soya sauce served with it is so good that I was scooping for the sauce directly. The mega plus for this dish is the tenderness of the meat that literally melts in your mouth! Highly recommended! Super shiok to pair with hot chrysanthemums tea (myr 2.10 per person). The soft shell crab in TSL has great sentimental value for me because the first time I ever had soft shell crab was at TSL some 10+ to 20 years ago when I was a kid. This was went TSL was still located in along Jonker walk (they relocated to their current site 1 year+ ago). We ordered the small soft shell crab (myr 26.50). The others found this dish mediocre but I really loved it! However, I guess it could be better if they had an accompanying sauce for this dish because it is abit too dry. Xoxo, wet tissue myr 80cents
Ordered the M size oyster noodle (myr 19.10). The servers told us that M size for sharing for 3-5 people but it was only sufficient to portion into 4 bowls. The oyster noodle was fantastic! A must- order and highly recommended! The goodness is in the thick sauce and the fat succulent oysters! The secret weapon is likely in the pork lard bites that camouflaged so well in the dish. Xoxo, wet tissue myr 80c!!
Order the ginger chicken (myr 15). The caramelised chicken went surprisingly well when paired with ginger slices and century egg slices, yum yum! Once again, cheap and awesome!! Xoxo, wet tissue no have
The bitter gourd omelette (myr 8) is really cheap and good! The bitter gourd that they use here is really bitter (they probably don't pre-soak in water). I like the bitterness and crunchiness of the bitter gourd because the rest of the dishes were simply too tasty and this helps to tongue-wash. Xoxo, wet tissue no have
Order 2 medium crabs ( myr 108/ kg; 2 crabs are about 800g-1kg) done in sour and spicy sauce. The sour and spicy sauce is supposed to be their speciality sauce. Personally, I don't like the sauce because I think the crab taste don't go well with sourness. The crab are live and you can choose from their tank. But, somehow I find that the crab meat in the legs are pretty hollow and fibre of the crab meat are too fine and not meaty enough. Xoxo, wet tissue no have
Had to order the Cheesy prawn meehun here (because the legendary tong sheng was closed T_T). The small portion cost myr 35, which can be easily apportioned to 4-5 bowls of meehun. The prawn sauce tasted like milky fish bee hoon soup with "roller-coaster cracker"type of cheese. My Friend said the one at tong Sheng tasted alot more delicious. Oh wells, maybe next time. Ordered this crispy sauce pork (myr 15). In sweet and sour pork sauce, this dish is unique because the pork slices are so thin that you actually taste the batter more than the meat. Xoxo, wet tissue no have
The salted egg crispy squid (myr 15) was crispy, tasty and addictive! The chewy squid wrapped in crispy battered and soaked in salted egg goodness. Xoxo, wet tissue no have
