Healthy Restaurants in KL/PJ
It can be pretty stressful for working men and women to decide where to eat during their hour lunch break, let alone worry about their diet, but those who are working around KLCC don't have to worry anymore!! Simple Life is located in the KLCC food court, but it's pretty easy to miss since it's a small kiosk. However the small workplace doesn't stop them from serving delicious healthy meals.
Just some really awesome soy curry with brown rice 🌚 BMS organics offer a wide range of local dishes but with a healthy twist!! To make things better, most of their menu are vegan friendly. BMS Organics have turned our local favorites such as curry, Bak Ku Teh, Asam Laksa and many more, into a healthier vegetarian alternative so we can enjoy the full flavour of it without the guilt that usually comes with it 😂😂 I had the Organic soy curry set, which includes brown rice, tofu, edamame, a side salad, black beans and an orange slice. The soy curry was really aromatic and flavourful. BMS Organics also use a meat substitute called seitan, which is a type of Japanese mock meat jam packed with protein!! The rice however, was a little under portioned so I ordered another serving of brown rice 😂 the set also comes with green tea, ginger tea and spirulina pills, and all for just RM 25.90!!
Chai bar is probably my personal favorite salad bar of ALL time!! Aside their seasonal and pre set salads, they also offer custom salads with a super wide range of greens, sides, dressing and protein to choose from!! I decided to switch it up a bit and instead of my usual baby spinach base, I had a regular lettuce base with roasted sweet potato, croutons, onions, cucumber, chickpeas, grilled chicken, strawberry balsamic vinegrette and tomato salsa (RM20.90), and yet again chai bar hasn't failed to impress me. Greens and as fresh as they can get and the dressing goes super well with the chicken. I also my favorite Avo-coco smoothie, which is avocado, cocoa powder and coconut milk, to complete my meal 😁
On a diet but wanna satisfy your sweet tooth? Look no further!! Hidden smack in the middle of Plaza Damansara, the vegan inspired cafe has a wide range of healthy dishes to choose, from vegan friendly to not so vegan friendly. What makes this cafe stand out from the rest is their healthy desserts. The Raw Chocolate Fudge and Banana Parfait (RM15.90) is basically their rendition of a parfait layered with raw chocolate date and walnut fudge, bananas, their delicious homemade granola and creamy cashew cream instead of the traditional yogurt, which makes this dish not only tasty but also vegan friendly and gluten free!!! Besides their wide range of parfaits, they also offer healthy wraps, custom salads and their healthy "nice-cream"!! Wanted to try it out but unfortunately it was unavailable that day :( Oh well!! Maybe next time Raisin the roof 😁😁
What can I say? Epic meals are epic as usual!! The picture doesn't really do much justice for it but my meal was amazing! Ordered the epic combo meal which includes succulent Epic grilled chicken topped with tasty classic LOW CALORIE country gravy, epic cauli-rice and a side of delicious farmers coleslaw (heads up, there's no mayo in their coleslaw!!). I also the red apple honey smoothie to wash everything down and all for just RM27.60.The best part of everything is that Epic Fit Meals actually take the time to calculate every dish's calorie count so that people who are counting their calories (or just wanna eat healthy) can enjoy their meals guilt free!! Epic Fit Meals also do deliveries, but only to selected areas. For those who are not living or working within their delivery areas, do visit their restaurant in Damansara Perdana. Do try out their new Epic Chummy Burgers as well as their Ramadan Special, Nasi Lemak Lite, which is their own healthy rendition of our local favorite Nasi lemak 😁
Located at the same row as the famous Naughty Nuri, Raw Power House has indeed proven to be one of Desa Sri Hartamas’ hidden gem. Ranging from healthy open face sandwiches to customized salads, this quite a wide range of food to choose from for a small half lot restaurant. I decided indulged myself into their open face sandwiches and one of their fresh juices. I had the dried figs, avocado chilli flakes and berry compete. All open face sandwiches is served with wholegrain toast spread with ricotta cheese. Usually I'm biased towards any making avocado, but this time the dried figs ricotta cheese won my heart. The slightly sweet figs pairs well with the grainy texture of the ricotta cheese and nutty wholegrain toast. Next up is the avocado chilli flake toast, which was super creamy with a spicy kick to it and then the berry compote. I also had their coconut, cinnamon and Chia seed bottles, which was super refreshing, especially with Malaysia’s weather. If you're around the area, be sure to check them out!!
A typical Malaysian go to food with a healthy twist!! Besides the fact that they use multi grain rice, every ingredient that they use are all organic. For RM28.90 (excluding GST), you get a generous serving of fried rice, a side salad, pickled vegetables, their delicious home made sambal with prawns and free-range, yes free-range, chicken satay!!! The sambal and pickled vegetables gives the flavour jam-packed fried rice that extra spicy and sour kick. Though it may be slightly more expensive than other healthy restaurants, but I personally think the portions here are more than what you get in other places 😁
A good, healthy, hearty meal doesn't have to be super complicated with a bunch of fancy ingredients and this Chicken Quinoa WRAP) RM21.90) by Goodness Greens is the epitome of a simple and healthy meal. Perfectly cooked grilled chicken strips and some garden greens wrapped in a wholemeal wrap and topped with alfalfa sprouts. This light snack is served with their special homemade sambal and soup. Personally I think it's best paired with their summer zest (RM8.90), which is a mixture of orange and pineapple juice. Besides tasting good and being super refreshing, the summer zest also helps as an anti-inflammatory!!
