Restaurant Week
So good. The Iberian pork was so juicy and tender, and had none of that gamey pork taste that we tend to find in some local places.
Didn't taste the gula melaka in the cream nor the five spice in the chocolate but it was still a pretty great execution - non-greasy, crispy churros dipped in cream and chocolate? Sign me right up. Great way to end off a Restaurant Week set dinner. Thought UNA had one of the more interesting menus there and it didn't let me down. The beautiful environment was also spot on.
Tender octopus with just the right amount of chew. (On a side note: thought the purple potatoes were taro but they really were purple baby potatoes.)
Was impressed with the Restaurant Week dinner we had at UNA. This was yum. Unctuous foie gras with sweet, slightly smokey figs. Pretty much a perfect starter. If only there was more...
This was really good - pasta was perfectly al dente, the seafood was yummy and there was a very tasty umami bisque. Much better than the crab bisque pasta we had at Burlamacco earlier in the week.
Nice, light appetizer. Nothing to shout about but generous with the number of prawns, and the salty trout roe went well with the slight sweetness of the fruit and dressing.
This was our favourite dish of the night š the amberjack was super fatty and juicy, and expertly grilled with nicely charred and crispy skin. Clams were very fresh as well. The little crispy ball of rice and chestnut was also delicious.
Solid piece of beef. What I really liked was the potato - firm and full of flavour - and the slight sweetness provided by the caramelized fruit (grape?).
Super fresh and juicy, with a nice chargrilled taste. But sadly a tad too generous with the salt.
Ordered this to share in addition to the 3 course restaurant week set. Very fresh and sweet, and tasted like the sea.
We had our best restaurant week meal at OCF. The food was excellent across all courses, and I really appreciated the thoughtful service - each course was explained to us and refills of water etc were very prompt. Started off my meal with this great appetizer - everything melted in the mouth with great umami flavour.
Knew this was going to be good from the looks of it - a lopsided panna cotta is always a good thing. And true to my expectations, this was fab. One of the wobbliest panna cottas I've ever had - perfectly set. Creamy but not too rich, and the berries were just that right balance of sour-sweet. Didn't touch the sea salt caramel but judging from how the brother polished it all off... it was probably good. Together with their pearl green tea (also excellent), this was a great way to end off our Restaurant Week meal here.
