At this choux shop, no frills are wasted on decor. Any bling is provided by the choux. Notable for their couture good looks and fabulous flavours (which include Apple Cinnamon, Dark Chocolate, Lemon Meringue, Lychee Rose, Matcha Azuki, Raspberry, Tiramisu and Vanilla), it's no surprise that each choux will set you back around four to five dollars. But I must say they're ideal for an afternoon treat, a unique gift for someone special, and are the perfect addition to any celebration or event.
🗒 Vanilla ($4), Lychee Rose ($5) , Lemon Meringue ($4), White Coffee ($4.50)
First work day. But, coffee first at this laid back, simple and uncluttered cafe. The tanginess of lime with the sweetness of meringue make this a well- balanced and tasty treat.
🗒 Lime Meringue Tart ($6.50), Cappuccino ($5), Latte ($5)
Simply can't resist the crumbly pastries here - whether it's the pies or tarts.
Totally bewitched by the sultry magic of this superbly rich Double Chocolate Tart. Deep, dark, and yes, somewhat decadent. Another tasty treat - the Lemon Meringue Tart. With a buttery pastry case and thick lemon curd centre, topped with peak of billowy meringue, it is comforting, zesty and light.
🗒 Double Chocolate Tart ($8), Lemon Meringue Tart ($7), Caffe Latte ($4.80)
You might miss Tarte by Cheryl Koh at first glance, as it’s a hole in the wall with only a narrow space on the ground floor of Shaw Centre. This boutique outfit is helmed by Cheryl Koh, named Asia’s Best Pastry Chef in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2016. The tarts here may be small in size, but they are big on flavour, and you probably won't be just eating one. Be warned.
🗒 Mixed Berries ($9), Tarte Bourdaloue ($9), Pistachio ($9), Dark Chocolate ($9)
Ahh...these sweeties. Take my money and the weighing scale any time! But can't say the same for the overpriced latte.
🗒 Mont Blanc ($9), Strawberry Shortcake ($9.50), Café Latte ($8)
