Pretty interesting dessert that I just couldn't miss as it replicates an actual terranium ! Like a deconstructed cake With green sponge on top resembling the plant, chocolate soil base, Apple compote and fresh mint custard with a shot of rum. Harmonious dish that worked pretty well having it altogether. Extra crunchy texture from the chocolate soil, the Apple compote also went well with the green sponge cake which was a tad dry. Overall a pretty interesting plant theme dessert concept worth a try !

Matcha hotcake, homemade dango , Yuzu peel, ricotta cheese, crumble and azuki beans. Hotcake was a little charred on the sides. This actually looks like an extra large version of a matcha lava cake. The green tea fondant was quite thick so it didn't flow out as nicely as I thought it would be. Love the crumble on the sides for additional crunchy texture and the Yuzu peel for the citrusy taste. Overall, this is still a very sweet dish that's more ideal for sharing

Never one to rest on their laurels, they have been constantly improving their ice cream flavours and even introduce new ones.

During my most recent visit, I had their Handcrafted Tart with Earl Grey Tie Guan Yin Gelato ($10.60), a perfect sweet treat after dinner. The buttery goodness from the tart, surprise from the almond tuile, gelato that was made with brewed tea from The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. and topped with a salted caramel floss were a genius pairing.

Lemony Snickel features tangy lemon curd pressed into a unique buckwheat crust. The lemon curd is tangy and tart, where the buckwheat crust is gentle and sweet. Each bite zips around your mouth, hitting sweet and sour notes concurrently.

Bak Chor Mee ! Part of Non Entree Dessert Cafe's Back to the Future theme ! Pretty interesting, isn't it ? Unlike your usual piping hot bowl of savoury minced meat noodles, it's actually a bowl Mango vermicelli “noodles”, mango pudding with aged balsamico “vinegar”, raspberry reduction “chili”, sesame “minced meat & coconut “fishball” parfait. Oh and it comes with chopsticks too ! I'm always amazed by the efforts this cafe put in to come up with interesting desserts like these ! Like the actual dish, it's recommended to mix everything up before having it ! Appreciate the “pork lard” cookie crumbles added for a more crunchy texture which complemented the strands of mango vermicelli. The balsamic was quite strong imo though it certainly have an unique and robust flavour . I would prefer having the Singapore Breakfast compared to this if you're looking for something sweeter and really gives a wow factor upon breaking open the chocolate shell of bursting “yolk” and coconut panna cotta.

Believe it or not, this is a back to the future themed dessert by non entree dessert cafe.
Reminiscent Singapore Breakfast of toast and eggs with a little twist ! Encased in the chocolate egg shell is actually Coconut Palma Cotta “soft boiled egg” with a yolkporn of Mango. Season it with some cinnamon “pepper” and gula melaka “soy sauce” while you're at it ! On the side is a Kaya Parfait Toast ! Much like a kinder surprise, it didn't seem much at first until you crack open the chocolate egg :)

Its great to be dining in The Lokal ! Excellent and friendly service, sure makes food more enjoyable.
Here, we have a chocolate mousse accompanied with homemade kaya and cookies !
Felt that the cookies were really great addition to go with the chocolate mousse which was heavy on the palate and gives an added texture to the dessert, like a tart haha. Also, I feel the kaya wasn't needed since the chocolate wasn't that bitter to have the kaya for some balance.
Great for sharing!

Loving the Lava series by Meet & Melt and this is their latest creation!
Thai Green Tea sauce which was very fragrant upon cutting open the crisp buttery toast and wasn't as sweet to my liking.
Also, their ice cream is worth a mention as I felt they have improved on the texture which is much smoother and creamy.

Rainbow cheese toastie ($9) by Epicurious cafe which uses real food for the colouring !
Spinach green, beetroot pink, carrot orange, red cabbage violet and teal potato boiled with bunga telang! 100% natural in green and orange with pink, violet and teal needing a little help ! It was certainly more assuring to consume this rainbow toast with ease knowing that it's a healthier choice compared to the kala toast in hk! Though, it wasn't as stretchable because of the amount of cheese used and ppl who dislike truffle may find this not very satisfying

Yummy Ice cream rolls made to order ! Watching the process of your ice cream rolls prepared on the spot was interesting, like cold stone creamery. Interesting flavours were durian and avocado but we decided to go something safer like Matcha which was rich and flavourful ^^.
Waffles wasn't as crispy and pretty average for 5 sgd.

ice cream roll ($5.9) able to mix up to two flavours unless it's a premium flavour

French Toast ($16.90) caramelized Apple chutney, fresh mixed berries,(blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, blueberries) crushed hazelnuts w/ rum & raisin ice cream . Though the toast was a tad dry, the Apple chutney and ice cream made up for it.
