Local Hawker Fare 🍴
This huge portion (enough for two to share) for just $5! 😱 All the other dishes are also as reasonably priced, and the best part is that it tastes authentically Thai. (A lot of Phad Thai are cooked with tomato sauce. Hmm. No. ✋🏻) located slightly more far in the housing estates, so not so accessible from the mrt. Otherwise, great place for cheap and authentic Thai food!
Anything Chilli = YAS GIMME 😍 My spice tolerance is pretty high so this was just mildly spicy imo! The chilli sauce is shrimp based and really flavourful! Only wished there was more of it cos I personally like my noodles very "saucey". The soup was the herbal type and very tasty too! Not the MSG-laden kinds. At $3/$4/$5, it's definitely worth every cent ☺️
After a previous failed attempt (stall was closed) and waiting in a snaking long queue, got to try this legendary Rojak famously mentioned in hawker reviews. The best part has to be the shrimp sauce and crushed peanuts that drenched the ingredients, much more depth in flavour compared to other Rojaks. And this one manages to also achieve the perfect ratio of mango:youtiao:cucumber:taupok:pineapples 😍 definitely one of Singapore's proud best 👏🏻
Affordably priced at $5.50 (-$1 you get back for returning the trays), this is a really value-for-money dish with generous portions of dumplings (4 well-stuffed pieces!) and Char Siew. The noodles were smooth and slightly springy, and I enjoyed the meat-mushroom-chestnut fillings in the dumplings. However, the Char Siew was too fatty for my liking, and I wished I had more tomato sauce for my noodles! But the belacan chilli was really good so I spammed lots of it with my noodles instead 😁
Famous Ah Lian Bee Hoon for dinner+supper after a long day of studying in school. Somehow didn't taste as good as I remembered it to be. But anyways it still brings back memories of all the late-night suppers! 🤗
