Finally tried this hard to catch @chubbychiabeelormee (they open only from 11PM to 10am). Normal portion of Lor Mee ($4) comes with big pieces of Super crispy fried fish and they are really very generous with it!! Fish was fresh with no oily or fishy smell 👍🏻 However, my heart still tilt toward Zhen Hao Lor Mee in the next food centre for really flavourful lor with choice of noodles!! In other news, spying the Economic Bee Hoon just opposite Chia Bee for their perfect looking fried eggs 😻
Can never resist a bowl of gravy overloaded bowl of Lor Mee -Especially the one at Zhen Hao Lor Mee at North Bridge Road Food Centre! I loved it how I can switch the usual noodles to Kway Tiao to soak up all the brilliant Lor! My favourite part would the excellent wobbly 三層肉 and the 茶葉蛋. Just wish the fish would be fresher✌🏻️#uncagedstreetfood
Got there around 1145am for a 4-5 person queue in front of me and got my order before 12pm. Wanted to try them the last time I was there but they were closed on Thursdays and Fridays 🙊🙈 For more Lor Mee(s) Lor, Check out my list! (Link in my Bio) 👯
Not opened for lunch, this stalls only opens around 4pm in the afternoon (till about late in the night) - Pictured here is their option 2 (Tradition Lor Mee) with fried cod fish ($4 + $3).(Yes, I paid $7 for my Lor mee and yes an extra serving of finely minced garlic). An extremely satisfying bowl of goodness with plenty of ingredients (braised pork belly, Nor Hiong, steam fish? And their interesting 茶叶蛋). My only gripe? I wish the gravy was thicker!
Seems like the "Lor" from Penang Kitchen is really good with the right amount of umami! Many ingredients too, noteworthy was definitely the crunchy fried tofu skin and the tender pork belly that comes with a perfect bite!
And I loved how it is damn shiok with plenty of chili, vinegar and garlic! Guess I'm the real Vampire Killer today! "HAHHHHH....." 😹
However, the noodles were a little overcooked and were more bloated than usual and the Lor was slightly lacking.
With the addition of chili, garlic and vinegar! Extra SHIOKness!
Another surprisingly good lor mee at an unexpected spot! Though there were items(like animal organs) in the gravy which I couldn't identify.
The chili was really spicy. But really price worthy for $3! It includes a piece of good fried fish and fried wanton on top of the other stuff in the lor mee! I seen lots of people adding more fish for just $4!
Wake up early for this bowl of goodness, located at the far end of the level 2 hainanese village center! Super hot and crowded on a sunday morning.
I think the thick bee hoon really complement the dish well! The chili and the vinegar really packed a powerful punch in the lor mee as the flavours become multi coloured in your mouth. I'm still itchy for another bowl now.
This "liao" many many lor mee would be good! 😋 Fried Fish Lor Mee ($4) from Penang Kitchen, Amoy Street Food Center. I realised many lor mee stores in Amoy, and didn't know which on was good. Settled for this store cause I was too hungry 😂 Thick yellow noodles splashed with that starchy thick gravy, topped with wu xiang, pork belly, egg, fried fish and special crisp that was really fragrant when you mixed in with the gravy.
In addition, their condiments are added by yourself, which mean as much chili, minced garlic or vinegar as you like!
