Death By Desert
Oh wow. Amazing bar snacks. The crispy kailan and the waffles (not in picture) tasted so amazing. Particularly great with the light and refreshing craft beer (Pomelo IPA) that I had.
Creamier hardly needs introduction. Comfort food on a warm day! Had peanut butter and jelly and salted gula melaka ice cream - certainly did not disappoint! The waffles were soft and fluffy in the inside.
New collaborated flavor exclusively at Gilman barracks. Love the black sesame fragrance!
This is one of the best desserts I’ve had at Ah Chew! The sweetness of the yam complements the milky soup. And the chewy sago gives it an additional layer of texture, transforming this simple dessert into dessert heaven!
Non entree is not your typical desert shop. It serves playful desert like nasi lemak desert, rubber ducky desert and more. The chocolate avalanche is one of the more normal ones.
Unfortunately I felt that the deserts were more gimmicky than anything else. They were not particularly tasty and they were all quite expensive! Clearly they are targeting those seeking an ‘experience’ rather than those looking for ‘real desert’.
Would only visit this place if I’m looking for some fun or a place to bring a date to.
Great honey aroma and thankfully it was not artificially sweet. The scoop was huge for the price as well! Would visit it again if I’m in the area!
Not particularly nice. The cookie dough taste was lacking.
I think the scoop ice creams are better. Go for those instead.
Acai (pronounced as ah-sigh-ee) berry is a a superfood touted to have tremendous health benefits owing to the large quantity of antioxidant, heart healthy fats and fiber, amongst other nutrients, it has. This original Flower Bowl consist of an acai berry blended base that tastes just like berry blended smoothie, with a generous topping of granola and other fresh fruit toppings like banana and other superfood like chia seeds.
I quite enjoyed this acai bowl though I might not visit it as often as the price on the slightly steep side, and I very much still prefer my ice-cream as desert. Will likely revisit only if I am looking for a healthy desert option.
Price: $9 (per slice); $70 (whole). The cake slices were Y...UGE.
The Meringue was on point 👌🏻. So amazingly fluffy. It was also neither overly sweet nor underwhelmingly bland - the sweetness with on point.
The lemon taste was also just right as it wasn't overpowering. The sponge cake was also fluffy to the perfect degree.
Excellent light desert on a weekend afternoon!
Price: $12 (waffles with 2 scoops of ice cream). Was in the area and decided to visit Everton creamery for some ice cream and waffles. The waffles was somewhat well made. It was not over mushy and instead had a good crunch to it. The inside were also adequately fluffy. Not the best I've had but certainly not the worst.
The gelato were however only ok. I got the after eight (i.e. Mint) flavor and butterscotch flavor and they were ok. Expected them to be better, and to have a richer taste but they fell a little short of expectations. (I still prefer my Hagen daz tub at home hahaha).
Overall I will likely not visit again unless I'm in the area.
Price: $9. Verdict: light and refreshing. This has 20 layers of paper thin crepe stacked together and with each layer separated by a layer of light pastry cream. This is a good change from the common sponge-based cakes. The cream was light, moderately sweet, and had nice tinge of creamish aroma. The individual crepe layers also had good pastry-like texture. And so the match of the cream with the crepe layers was quite impeccable.
Price: $14. This black velvet waffles is in fact black sesame waffles with green tea or black sesame ice cream. You have a choice of fluffy or crispy waffles; we chose the fluffy one and it was gooood. Overall there is a good balance of sweetness with appropriate tinges of saltiness, as one would expect from black sesame.
