Hello lobster roll, you're still as damn good as I remembered! And I never imagined that cold kangkong can amount to anything worth mentioning but the blanched greens here are just zippy with calamansi juice and perfectly fried, non-bitter shallots. And the grilled baby squids are pretty tantalising with a heady, smoky aroma. *beams*
MEATliquor's Dead Hippie is a darn good burger, juicy patty and all. But it also tastes uncannily like the Big Mac in terms of its flavours, from the cheese to the mustard to the pickles – but of course, with a keener execution. It's a heartier portion than Omakase's Ultimate Burger at just a teensy higher price tag ($22++ as opposed to $19.50+) but this lack of a memorable identity makes me that much less likely to crave it. Still, I'd be back to try other burgers. Just the burgers, because the sides and cocktails kinda just padded the bill with surprisingly pedestrian quality. (That said, an egg always helps.
