Yum Yum!
The moment of truth, is disappointing. The tea cost $5.80 without Pearl's. Its $6.40 inclusive of the minimal pearls I was given.
The tea taste strong. Bubble tea drinkers who enjoy strong tea may enjoy this.
Pearls are quite hard.
Nothing to shout about. Can give a miss unless you happen to be around this area.
You can pop by have a drink and sit around to chat. There are seats outdoor.
I was fortunate to come across this old school confectionary at hougang. Soo teck lim vegetarian confectionary. The tau sa piah cost $2.50 per piece. The soft and thin crisp melts in your mouth, it has a peppery taste which is quite intriguing.
The colored mooncakes and piahs attracted my attention.
All purchases come with 2 free pineapple tarts. I was amazed how the aroma of the pineapple lingers though it was not sweet at all. It makes you crave for more.
For lovers of chee Cheong Fun and yong tau fu. You can have the best of both sweet worlds. Limited choices of yong tau fu pieces. Crispy fried beancurd skin with soft and smooth chee cheong fun. Non filling! Which means you get to have a taste of other food in the market! At 2.50 per plate, what more can you ask for? Chille is non spicy. Extra charge for additional sauce additional sauce.
I have yet to see this combition anywhere else in Singapore. Worth a try.
The fish and chip is to die for! Too bad we can't find anything near in Singapore. When you bite into the fish, the crumbs are so crunchy. The fish meat is so thick. The fries are really good. They go so well with a special spice they provide. 44 bucks once a month for a fish and chip. Okay!
For $1.50 it's not too bad. The uncles working in the stall are amiable. Did not get to try the duck nor their fishballs. Give it a try if you are at dunman road. It would be better if it was warm. The chille sauce just makes the entire dish more yummy.
One of the must eat char kway teow in Singapore. Come and try it for yourself. One man's meat is another's poison.
The meat is braised in veal jus in a high pressured cooker which results in a tender and flavourful beef that pulls apart super easily! The smooth, creamy mash potato makes the whole dish velvety and delicious, would order this again! Priced at $28++.
Quite a hidden gem. Wasn't expecting to find such good tze char in a food court amongst the hippier and more famous cafes and restaurants.
We had Chilli Sauce Crayfish (lazy to peel crabs), salted egg yolk squid and assam fish head to be shared amongst 2.
Chilli sauce exactly like that of chilli crab with plenty of egg strands. Good to be mopped up with fried mantou.
Salted egg yolk squid is well-priced. Crispy and not drenched in oil & gerlart like some other places.
Assam fish head is fresh. Not fishy at all even around the fish stomach area. Sauce is very crisp and refreshing. Appetising!
Fans of veggies and smoothies, it's a visit you never want to miss. Prices are a bit steep as compared to other cafes but it's organic! What more can you ask for?
Overlooking the Paddy fields and a pond with cool breeze blowing. All the food just taste better. The crispy duck and some chille sauce. Mmmmm.. the food here is slightly more expensive. Per person may cost up to $10 as compared to other places. But the money is worth spending.
The steak was priced at a reasonable rate for all. If you expect good service from them, visit them during the day time on weekdays. The staffs are friendly and courteous. The best part is that they do not have any tax chargers. So the prices you see on the menu are exactly what youre paying for. Do visit!
The aroma of the curry spells it all...
