Japanese Set Meals
Pretty decent meal with well marinated duck meat and sufficient pieces of goose liver.
($16.35 after taxes). The friendly neighbor of mine had been eating every weekend since it opened and hence invited me to enjoy this "Tempura Don" with him. There was free flow of "Japanese salad", served with miso soup, Chawamushi and a main tempura Don. The Chawamushi was pretty tasty, the "tempuras" were well fried, with its shrimps being fresh, chicken tender, mushrooms crunchy, eggs fried to the right state. Overall a pretty good meal with only the fact that the chicken was a bit too bland for my taste buds. A warning though that it is really filling with that amount of rice they provide!
A close friend of mine who loves Japanese food eats at this restaurant situated in shangri la hotel monthly for their seasonal hiru Kaiseki that comes with: appetizer, soup, sashimi, simmered dish, grilled fish, a main course and a desert at $65 before taxes. It will burn a great hole in anyone's pocket but it is of top notch quality. The highlight of the meal was that somehow foie gra and tomatoes were often infused into the dishes which makes the whole taste much different from the normal Japanese food fare. Would definitely eat here again when my pockets are big enough to burn this hole.
