cafehopping - waffles/pancakes/toasts!
Churros Factory Set ($7.90 for 3 pcs) - a perfect option for people like me who like to try a variety of dips. The set includes a choice of 2 dips ranging from chocolate, butterscotch, caramel and strawberry as well as 1 topping such as rainbow, coconut, nuts, cookies & cream.
We chose the chocolate and butterscotch dips atop rainbow topping. They also kindly separated the cinnamon sugar so that you can personalize the amount of sweetness!
The crispy original churros were freshly fried and they were not accompanied with any hint of greasiness. I like the concept behind the way they served this set, which would cater to different tastes and tolerance for dips, sweetness and toppings!
Thank you to all foodie friends whom I got to know this year and putting up with my annoyance! May you have a great time with your family and friends!
Had a velvety velvety Blue Velvet Waffle ($11.90) this evening with my all time favourite speculoos ice cream! Blue is such a romantic christmasy colour š
Classic Waffle with Bubblegum and Coconut Taro ($15) - waffle and ice cream are charged separately, not cheap.
Waffle was decent but lack of crisp on the outside, though I could feel the fluffiness on the inside. The taste of the batter was rather strong, so it kind of felt āuncookedā to the right temperature/time.
This is when I DIY and added popcorns (complimentary starter) to enhance the visual and taste.

Similar to Shibuya toast, it came half with peanut butter and another half with matcha white chocolate. This was one of the better toasts that I have tried after Tuk Tuk Cha, with a crispy exterior and richly glazed butter on the interior!
In fact, the top layer tasted like a packet of toasted garlic bread that was so crunchy.

It came with 2 pieces of squarish waffles with a scoop of salted egg yolk and enlivened with salted egg sauce.
This is the crispiest waffle that I ever tried and it was so crunchy that you can hear it break under your knife! The warm waffle remained crispy even after the ice cream melted and drenched the waffle.
Salted egg ice cream was infused with aromatic curry leaf, though could get a bit overwhelming and covered the taste of creamy salted egg flavour.

A modernized version of the usual Ondeh Ondeh coated with coconut, the Ć©clair was glazed with desiccated coconut and infused with Pandan fragrance.
Now let's get back to the rally and look forward to a 4-day work week!

I like to call it eggette though, and Supermilk is currently offering plain or chocolate flavour with a scoop of classic ice cream ($10.90) and 50 cents more for premium ice cream flavours.
Ordered the chocolate flavour with milk tea ice cream and the homemade hollow shaped eggette was accompanied with a rich aroma of custard and cake flavour with random bits of chocolate chips and drenched with chocolate + caramel sauce. The sweet treat had a light crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Would definitely be better to have extra crispy edges!
The sauce was rich but a tad too sweet with caramel sauce. Don't expect to have burst of molten chocolate lava sauce alike in each little golden puff š
Do note that their kitchen will be closed for renovation so you can only find desserts and coffee in this 2 weeks time!
Waffles with 2 supreme flavours ($11.80) ā Pistachio and Valrhona Manjari (dark chocolate). Got a free scoop of mango sherbet by liking their Facebook page as part of their opening promotion, yay!
But sigh, waffles were not crispy enough and the texture was cakey and thick on the inside. It also got me into sugar rush towards the end with maple syrup and honeycomb bits.

Freshly prepared upon order, the mochi donut was fried to golden brown with a distinctive chewy and soft texture, complemented with a crispy outer layer.

The exquisite hotcake has a light crisp on the outside with fluffy yet firm texture on the inside. The interior was not flaky when you cut through it, and each bite tasted as good as it looked! Probably good for 3 to 4 to share though.

Each bite size of the toast was crispy with a hint of crustiness on the outside accompanied by soft and fluffy texture on the inside! Best of all, they were lusciously coated with butter and well balanced with honey which resulted in a sweet symphony of flavours.

seems like the latest trend in SG. the outer layer coated with toffee sauce was crispy,
crusty with the right hardness (hard enough yet not to the extent of breaking your teeth). the inside was soft and fluffy - a good balance of external crunch and internal fluffiness. the staff were also nice to change one of the ice cream flavour to caramel biscuits!
one thing to note though, you gotta eat it as fast as you can, as it tends to get soggy eventually.
so despite being one of the better toast in SG, it still cannot beat my favourite Shibuya Honey toast from After You Cafe. so what is missing? well, I guess the internal texture wasn't as fluffy as the one from After You, and it got pretty plain without butter.
