Tanjong Pagar
Honestly the photo doesn't seem to do justice to the dish; the Wagyu Beef Cheek was soaked in red wine for 48 hours and then sous vide overnight for 65 degrees Celsius. The result was a really sweet marinade with a smoky flavour, with a melt-in-the-mouth goodness as it was surprisingly tender without any traces of fats and other distractions. Zucchini Spheres were seasoned and sautéed well, and the Fregola Salda (small pasta) was chewy and had a hint of cheesy flavour. Thumbs up for this dish!

Unexpectedly chanced upon The Plain and had a tough time finding a seat because all that was left was a communal table. Not a huge fan of the communal dining concept in a cafe but I had company so the experience was still alright. The flat white ($4.20) was decent, but compared to the Wicked coffee I had at The Plain's sister establishment (RONIN), it was a little lacklustre. It would have been better if the coffee was slightly stronger!
Plain ol' burger with a piece of portobello mushroom; juicy and wholesome, not too complicated with many sauces, love it! Thanks Rach for the lovely lunch!
