A cozy new addition to Duxton Hill with the opening of CLOUD. A lovely transformation from the space occupied by Marvx Coffee, plus you can never have too much coffee and bakes, right?

P.S: bakes like banana loaf are churn out daily, so check out the display for what’s available.

Why not get your brunch fix at September Coffee, a short walk from Chinatown MRT. Inspired by cafe scenes like South Korea & Thailand, it advocates the beauty of simplicity with greenery.

Boosting an extensive menu for a cafe, from classic Fried Chicken French Toast ($18) to small bites like Tiger Prawn Toast ($14) and unique creamy Masago Udon ($23). They are tweaking the menu during my visit, so do give them time.

Don’t miss their beautiful crafted drinks such as Iced Black Sesame Latte ($8) and Burnt Chocolate ($7)

Make your morning a little brighter with these pastries. All paired perfectly with a cup of coffee.

Dropped by at La Levain a couple of times but it’s my first time trying the acclaimed Bo Bo Cha Cha Croissant ($6.50). The croissant rendition of our local dessert is an intriguing combination of sweet potato, yam, coconut mochi and flaky crust.

Other pastries worth checking out will be their Mushroom Onion with Gruyere Cheese Danish, Pistachio Salted Caramel Cruffin and Burnt Cheese Croissant.

Stepping into a Happi Place at Everton Park.

18 flavours on display, with localised flavours like Ondeh-Ondeh, Coconut with Kaffir Lime & Kopi C. At an additional $1, you can get cones or old-school Rainbow Bread to “kiap” the ice cream!

Those who like BOP’s White Chrysanthemum will likely love the Ju Pu, a creamy blend of Pu-er with Chrysanthemum flowers. Fragrant and well-balanced, as it combines the earthiness of Pu-er and aromatic notes of chrysanthemum.

Other flavours we had include the sweet Rose Lychee Raspberry and milky Bon Bon (kinda like Ferrero) atop light airy buttermilk waffles (from $9.90/waffle with a single scoop). My friend declares it one of the best he had recently!

P.S: eyeing other flavours but too full? They have mini cones at $1.50 so you can sample a variety.

99 gelato? Nope, but 16 is equally impressive. Flavours (from $6/scoop) range from classic Espresso and Tahitian Vanilla to a more refreshing Tomato Strawberry or get “drunk” on Ceylon Tea & Peach Liqueur.

Located in an old complex, it’s amazing how they transform the old dingy area into a spacious comfortable cafe completed with plush chairs and figurines.

Two exclusive gelatos ($8/scoop) will be their Dulcey Chocolate with Whiskey & Seasalt and Sorrel with Creme Fraiche & Yuzu Jelly. Creamy sweet dulcey chocolate comes with an additional shot of whiskey, while the light citrusy sorrel is balanced with yuzu jelly.

Upside down or right side up?

Spot the cute cafe with a topsy-turvy entrance along East Coast Road. Focusing on Ipoh White Coffee with specially roasted beans from Ipoh, sip your coffee while taking photos at the gram-worthy walls.

Signature Cold Brew ($5) is my favourite. Thick yet smooth, it has 3 layers of taste - chocolaty, chestnut and finally a smoky fragrance. Other than this, they offer unique flavours ($7.50) like Matcha, Rose, Osmanthus and Banana to pair with their Nanyang Coffee.

P.S: currently under soft launch and the official opening will be on 1 March 2022.

Gelato inspired by the botanical flavours of nature, no introduction needed for Birds of Paradise. Avid fans of their gelato will be glad to know that they have the third outlet near Tanjong Pagar MRT.

Delicate floral White Chrysanthemum with cocoa nibs combined with the earthy Sea Salt Houjicha ($8/double scoop), have it in a cup or on the fragrant handcrafted thyme cone.

An all-time classic, Egg Benedict is one of the dishes that can be commonly found in brunch menu.

SYIP has recently launched the Uni Egg Royale ($28), an interesting take on this breakfast favourite. Sourdough spread with guacamole and prosciutto (thinly sliced Italian dry-cured ham), topped with two perfectly done poached eggs. Instead of the usual, smothered it with a decadent uni hollandaise and finish with more uni.

If you know me, you’ll know how much I love my desserts. So I was pleasantly surprised that I’ll like the new savoury donuts & cruffins by Mr Holmes Bakehouse more than the sweet bakes.

With a menu overhaul, they have more interesting bakes such as Irish Cream Cruffin and Bacon Mac & Cheese Danish. But noteworthy mentions will be these two!

But my heart goes to their Sundried Tomato & Bacon Jam ($7.50). The new flaky pastry has a filling of tomato, chive cream cheese and bacon jam, complete with crispy cheese skirts.

The toothsome Everything Donut ($5.80) is piped with chive and caper cream cheese, then glazed with spicy Sriracha honey and a coat of house-made Everything seasoning. Giving it a sweet, savoury and slightly spicy bite all at once.

Sangas & coffee morning! East side still going strong with another new cafe replacing Stamping Ground Coffee.

Interesting selection of beans for drip coffee, though the menu seems lacklustre with Sangas aka Sandwiches like Tonkatsu, Grilled Mushroom & Eggplant and PB & Strawberry Basil.

The only sweet item on the menu, PB & Strawberry Basil ($15) might be a hit-or-miss item. Chunky PB with housemade strawberry basil jam, if you’re not a fan of basil then skip this.

A filling option, Tonkatsu ($18) is made of Pork belly Katsu with the iceberg. Paired with housemade daikon & zucchini pickle, it helps to cut through the greasiness.
