sometimes, it just makes sense to order the plain one so you can taste how the dish is like without all the added pizzazz. and i must say, it tastes really good with just butter and maple syrup. also, fluffy pancakes are excellent sponges for syrups, esp when i like soaking mine in them 🤭
i love pistachios so i knew i had to order this to see if it was any good. i can safely say that it was really yummy and didn’t disappoint my tastebuds at all! although, i did wish for some element of tartness to balance out the dish.
first time having boat noodles and i tried both the red tom yum and the herb boat noodle soup. i very much prefer the tom yum version because it’s less herbally and doesn’t have this weird taste.
each bowl is $0.80++ and you can choose from various toppings such as prawns, beef and pork. there are also 2 types of noodles for you to pick from - glass noodles and rice noodles.
my favourite combination would def be red tom yum with glass noodles, topped with pork balls. 🙃

i visited this place back in 2019 when it was still a pop-up and i’m still really happy with the food here. so glad they became a permanent thing!
steak ($21) was about 200g, which was tender and juicy when cooked to medium rare. i paired it with the wasabi cream ($2) to give it a little kick and i think it’s my fav sauce of the 4 that they have.
for sides, we got the creamed spinach ($7), mushrooms ($9) and potatoes fried in beef fat ($9). they were all delicious but my fav was definitely the potatoes because they were so fragrant and crispy 🤭
honestly, it’s a really affordable place for good steak and sides. worth bringing your date here 🙃
it’s really rich and creamy, with the umami flavour from the uni. despite all that, i had no problem finishing this plate all on my own because it does not feel cloying at all. this is a must-try if you’re a fan of uni 😚
this is an interesting twist on your usual hawker fare. the cheese makes this dish a lot richer and to my surprise, there’s still a strong wok hei flavour which is definitely a plus.
late post but B&L has always been my favourite and i’ve been looking for a reason to try the one in sg after having it for the first time in london.
i think the lobster roll will always be my most favourite dish at the place because the sweet, succulent lobster meat pairs so well with the buttery, crispy bread roll.
i’m drooling just thinking about it 🤤
the free soup and chilli were great. but the chicken, rice and vegetables were pretty average. honestly i don’t see myself traveling all the way to katong for this. but if i stayed nearby, i wouldn’t have mind.
as with all shio ramen, this broth is lighter in flavour but the subtle yuzu aroma really does it for me. i’ve never had anything quite like this before. definitely worth a try!
we ordered the 6 handroll set ($36), sake pairing ($18) and this seasonal roll, and boy was this seasonal roll the perfect ending to a good meal.
hotate (scallops) were extremely fresh and sweet, while the uni added an umami flavour. i wish i had more money so i could eat more 🥺
this waffle is unique to glacier and it definitely has the fragrance of those pandan waffles you find a regular bakeries. the mochi inside also adds a different texture with each bite.
we paired it with the milk & honey gelato as well as the blue pea lemongrass pandan gelato. the latter does take a while to get used to since it’s quite a unique flavour, but def worth a try!
