Fine and flavourful grains of rice accompanied by a rich and sweet chili - staples in the nasi lemak dish. Somehow really love the Bergadil here as well. If not for the long queue, I would be here more often.

You don't get such price deals very often with the rate of inflation nowadays. This dish is flavorful with its wok hei, but the key thing about this is the savoury Chinese sausage that they add to this wonderfully fried local delicacy.

A fall from grace from what I had 2 years ago. The batter is much thicker and the salted egg less pronounced. Still, a good offering of "no sauce"salted egg sotong that has the salted egg fried in the batter. --

Boasting a generous portions, this is definitely a top choice at the hawker centre. Their chili has a good kick. Look out for their Har Cheong Gai which gets sold out by 1pm! -

Amidst a spread of food courts that charge at least 5 dollars for a meal to an onslaught of finer eateries charging more than 10 dollars, this curry rice is a real gem. Located beside sunrise coffee (which some say have the best coffee - super 'gao') and Tian Ci Prawn Mee, you'll never miss the snaking queue from this stall, which incurs at least 10-15 minutes waiting time if you're lucky. If the queue were a bit shorter, I would have this everyday.
I guess the affordable price, sizable portions, and decent taste really attracts the common folk to sacrifice their precious lunch break minutes for a plate of this curry rice.

Located level 2 of Chevron House, this inconspicuous coffee shop is home to a few hawkers selling their humble fare of local delights. Expect to see chicken rice, curry rice, fish soup, nasi padang, and not forgetting your local drinks stall.
This prawn mee has a thick and sweet broth which is the winner for me. Prawns aren't plentiful but I think it's worth a try. -

Really well done fried egg from this stall which serves up a hearty portion of fried rice with not bad taste. A nice go to for a simple lunch around Raffles Place.

"Singapore Style Ramen" ($7.20 - Medium). -

In a short phrase, this lived up to its hype!
From the way it was prepared, a lot of detail is put into this bowl of ba chor mee with the chefs going through a step by step process of adding all the ingredients and garnishing. What's special has to be the sauce which is slightly sweet compared to normal BCMs and a dash of seaweed seasoning which gives it a whiff of furikake-taste. 3 slices of pork were dipped in a teriyaki-ish sauce which was flavorful.
I also enjoyed the pork broth that had a nice earthiness to it. All in all, a well balanced dish, albeit slightly pricey to its counterparts (in Amoy St Food Centre). I would definitely come again, once in a while. -

Located next to Hock Gooi, this stall serves up quite a nice version of prawn Mee. The stock has strong flavours of pork and prawn, and I appreciated the generous serving of the prawns as well. Noodles were flavorful with some added sauces, make sure to get a mix of beehoon and yellow noodle for great textures. The white pepper sprinkled on top kinda spoils it though so ask to add it yourself!
