Everything Italian!
A great place to hangout with friends or loved ones on a weekend. Music was not too loud and the tables were separated wide enough make conversation.
Reasonably priced with an extensive food and wine menu. Ordered ham & mushroom pizza ($21) and paired it with Barbera d'Alba 2017 ($48/bottle) with the help of @vivino. The pizza was a thin crust type and was not much to shout about. Maybe because we were already a bit full from the previous place.
The wine however, was exceptional. After letting it breath for about 20 mins, the hints of vanilla and cherry were more pronounced. Texture was velvety and smooth with a lengthy finish. If one wants to purchase the same wine, they do sell them at their retail shop at the same price.
Tuck in the square of Robertson Walk, this quaint trattoria has the homey Italian vibe. Foodwise, this meat lover's pizza is worth the wait during peak hours. Every bite was a mouthful of italian sausage, salami, mortadella and beef bolognese; while the pizza crust was thin and crispy.
PS: Pair it with their Borgo Sanleo Chianti for the full Italian experience and finish with in-house made pistachio gelato
Surprised that the original shop closed down and what is left is at the corner of the building. Heard that the pizzas here are good so decided to give it a try. We ordered the Verve Special Pizza which had pepperoni, artichoke, onions, mushrooms, ham, chilli and topped with mozzarella cheese. Must say that it turned out to be a satisfying meal, the artichokes surprisingly went well with the pizza. Coupled with the view of Marina Bay, it was a lovely evening :)
First time trying Miam Miam after my colleague had a craving for it during lunch. Somehow it did not catch my attention the many times I was at Westgate. I had the spicy arrabiatta and it came with a free soup during weekday lunchtime. The portion was big; 2 person able to share this. Tastewise, I like the spiciness from the tomato based sauce but they could do with more of the meat for such a big portion. Most of the time I was eating just spaghetti and sauce. Not the best spaghetti bt the huge portion somewhat justifies the price.
The risotto was cooked the way I loke it and the fish was fresh. Much better than my first risotto experience (not here though), so I was a bit aprehensive at first when my sister ordered it.
Pizza with mozerella cheese, homemade pork sausage, porcini mushroom and truffle paste. Though it looks simple, the balance between the flavours was good. With every bite we were able to taste all the ingredients at once. Also, the crust was just nice, not too thick as pizza hut's version and not as crispy as dominos. I guess this is how pizzas in Italy tastes like.
Fine Italian restaurant which serves authentic and hearty Italian food. We had the Brushetta Etna for appertisers and it did whet our appetite. The toppings were burata, tomato salsa, parma ham and eggplant. This is my new place to satisfy my italian craving after La Nonna.
Excellent Carbonara, penne was just nice though this dish has to be shared.
The sauce was great, accompanied by lots of chunks of chicken breast meat. Good hot meal for a rainy day :)
