Where it's oily and Sichuan pepper that causes numbness to your taste buds. But yesterday, my friends brought me to try this Mala Hot Pot located at the People's Park Food Centre, Unit: 1042. The taste and spicy has been adjusted to the local crowd. I really can't take too spicy and oily food. Surprisingly, when I ate this. My face literally lighted up! It's SO GOOD! You choose your own ingredients. I love my friends, they went to order this and mainly order vegetables. We had 1 meat and beef tripes. Potatoes, sprouts, lotus roots, tofu, beancurd skin, eggplant, mushrooms, black fungus. I'm officially in love with this!!!

Located at Unit 174. I like my noodles slightly to the wetter kinda. If you are a garlic lover like me, you probably would love this! I would enjoy this plate of goodness once a while.
This is from my dad's stall. Located at 51 Old Airport Road Food Center. Unit no. 138! My dad starting following my grandpa to do CKT since he was 12 years old. Many of the customers claims that my dad's is like a cross breed of Singapore CKT and Penang CKT. So don't expect to have too much dark sauce in it. My dad uses fresh prawns and squids which he goes to the wet market early in the morning to choose all of it himself! He also makes sure that supplier gives the freshest and big cockles. He also cooks the pork lard from scratch! $3 and you have abundance of ingredients in there! Fish cake, Chinese sausage, Chinese chive, beansprout, cockles, prawns and squid. Opens daily from 8am-1.30pm.
The owners are friends of my Dad, actually we are neighbors. Haha! Whenever I patronized their stall, the friendly couple would always ask how everyone at home. Their satay are as nice as the owners. They are famous for their pork satay! Why? The meat is usually sandwich between this piece of luscious fat! It's very well balance. They made their own satay sauce. Every day, uncle would cycle to the hawker with two big pots of satay sauce. The sauce is thick and tangy and the highlight of the sauce is grated pineapple! Go ahead and start drooling now!
They made everything from scratch! Very nice. Very cheap $5.50 for 10 pieces! In Old Airport Road Hawker, it's more expensive but it's the nicest! Also made from scratch but it's super juicy! Check out my older post if you're interested!
Some people says it's a mysterious stall as it does not have a fixed off day, opens at 5pm and usually everything sold out before 8pm. There's always a very long queue. They sells steamed radish cake and steamed yam cake. This plate cost me only $2! My friend brought me here to have this and he told me to look carefully at the cakes. I could see that the radish shreds. This means that the uncle manually shred his radish and steamed it. This is very traditional stuff and yet cheap and good! Be sure to go to Chinatown Food Centre, you can really find good eats there!
It's super cheap too. Remember to order for Chen Ji!
Guess how much is it? It's only S$13! There are many stalls that sells this, I like there are a stretch of 4 stalls but owned by two different owners. I like the one on the left. It also have crispy lard on it which bring it to a whole new level.
We are going for prawns satay! BBQ prawns on skewer, with the peanut sauce!
