Burgers
Craving all things pork? If you are, newly-opened Dojo is THE place to go. Besides boasting a menu full of porky burger goodness, their sides that come with them are real hits too. Burgers range from $10-$13, which includes a side of fries and a drink. Go for the signature Sumo burger ($13) - pork patty with roasted sesame dressing and crispy pork-belly topped with salad, between two soft buns. If you want something lighter, try the Komba Bao ($6) - braised pork belly sandwiched between FRIED mantou buns!
Really liked the flavours in this burger. Especially liked the grilled pineapple sandwiched between two pieces of veal schnitzel (which I felt were slightly tough). Also, I think I've found my favourite fries 😊 Gonna get a side of fries the next time!
With pork belly, broken omelette, spinach and chilli jam. I didn't have this but apparently it was gooood.
These twice-cooked wings were coated in a sauce boasting Asian flavours, garnished with strips of fresh chilli, spring onion, and some sesame seeds. I liked that they were rather dry despite the sauce, but thought the meat could have been juicier.
Topped with spiced bearnaise, beef chilli, fried shallots, Parmesan and sesame seeds. Didn't find any sesame seeds but I really liked the fries, which are like fried potato slices. Wish there was more beef chilli!
Man this was gooood. Beef was cooked very well and slightly charred (which I love). The slaw really brightened the burger, as did the super tangy sauce. At $20, this gives Omakase a run for their money but I think I prefer Omakase's cleaner flavour.
This non-halal burger joint makes for the perfect place to chill, have a bite, and hang out across large wooden tables. Go for anything pork here, and give the interesting varieties a try if you're up for some unusual combinations. For a truly sinful burger, the Burgertory Treasure certainly fits the bill. A juicy pork patty topped with mild cheddar and crispy pieces of, wait for it.. pork lard! It gets pretty crowded after 6, so expect to wait.
When at Andes, you must try the Aussie Bacon Burger Wrap (RM15.90) served with coleslaw and fries. The signature patty is dangerously thick but perfectly cooked, oozing melted cheese from the middle, and topped with bacon, onions and tomatoes. Be sure to eat it quick, before the cheese hardens! For a less heart-stopping combination, go for the Pork Burger (RM12.90), you'll be surprised at how affordable and juicy their chunky pork patty is!
People flock to Kissaten for their famous teriyaki pork burger. Devouring this towering monster of a burger is quite a feat - you'll find your hands dripping with teriyaki sauce and runny egg yolk as you take each bite. You will also find yourself exclaiming between bites at the sheer juiciness of the pork patty! Prices have been on the rise, and the burger is now RM13.90 - still pretty worth it if a juicy pork burger is what you're craving!
