For any dry noodles, all you need is wok heiness. A small place with just a few tables but the turnover rate is quite high. For $6 you get a good mixture of clam, pork and tau pok stir fried with thick white noodles. Not forgetting the wok heiness. 😋

The mee Kia was pretty good, springy and had enough flavour. But the fishball tasted more like starch while the er duo (what’s the real name for this?) was more like a slimy mess. 😨
Rainy days these few days really calls for something soupy. Using brazilian lobster for a super rich soup. The Soup has a stronger seafood taste with a slight sweet note. Somehow reminding me of salted egg. 😂 Price diff is half or whole lobster.

Their dry mee pok is a bit like a cross between Chinese handcut dry tossed noodles and mee pok. Their sambal chilli really has a kick w the added buah keluak. 🤤 Rmb to add the toss in the lard as well! 🤤🤤🤤

You can see their constant strive for creating delicious food from their sign that says "if it's nice tell your friends, if not tell us". Their mee Soto is absolutely delicious! Plus at $5 for a whole chicken wing and a tasty bergadil, it's a steal! (It's $3.50 without!)

So our hawker escapade continued with Top one noodles and mutton soup. Do not underestimate the spiciness in this bowl of mee hoon kway that looks black and innocent. It burns the tongue!! And the mutton soup is nice and herbal-ish without the mutton smell!
Just some simple lunch. The Penang kway teow here is well fried and fragrant (though a tad oily). But as for the hor fun it was just so so, I didn't quite like the taste of the stock in the gravy. Sadly one kueh at a time was alr sold out by the time I reached and I settled for some popiahs. Which was pretty good! First time I had a popiah w lup cheong instead of prawns.
I would say I prefer the minced pork noodles here compared to the outlet at Bukit panjang because it is less oily. Thumbs up for it being healthier. But it's the first time in trying the bean sauce and it's strangely sweet. Like eating tau suan with your yong tau foo. Not sure if the other stores are like that. I love the taste of the fermented bean sauce with the kang kong. So truly Hakka 😋
Springy egg noodles! Finally here after they reopened next door. I would say the noodles are still as good but why is there so much liquid ah. And the char siew is soooooo thin you can barely taste the meat.
Finally I got to eat the dry ban mian I grew up with before I found Top One handmade noodles. A bowl of awesomeness with the chilli and vegetables! They only open till 2pm and the queue is crazy on weekends. You have to wait till 1 hour sometimes.
