From 吃為先, a family run restaurant in Geylang Lorong 17. Desmond ventured out on his own and started 吃飽先, an identical eatery bearing similar dishes. From 松魚頭，豆腐蝦，鹹魚肉餅，烏雞湯 etc....almost each table bears similar dishes and constantly packed. One of my favorite 私房菜. A must try if u haven't been there! Verdict: 4.5/5

"Eat full first", newly opened by one of the sons of the famed Sik Wai Sin, is an air conditioned version on the same street. This joint serves only 13 dishes, with popular ones from his family's restaurant making an appearance. Go for the Steamed Fish Head, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Black Chicken Soup. Expect the dishes to be pricy, but they're truly worth it!
