In my opinion, there are very little chicken rice shops that do it well. Fortunately, this is one of them. Be sure to try their homemade Hainanese chilli sauce. Not to be missed if you love spicy chilli. It has the extra kick that you can't find anywhere else. (:

Usually packed during weekends lunch time, so be prepared to have to wait for tables. The char siew here is what makes the wait worth it. Be sure to either get a dish with char siew or a plate of it on its own. (:

KTZ does amazing shaved ice coated with fruit sauce and laced with sago. Messy but made to share. PS: They also serve food if you're up for a full meal.

Be sure to try the dry curry noodles here! They also offer an assortment of fish cakes along with various type of noodles to choose from. My personal favourite is their laksa noodles. 😊

Be prepared to wait at least 40 minutes for this as they prepare the broth fresh for each bowl. Trust me, the wait is well worth it. Also, don't forget to customise your order by adding an egg or pork intestines. To avoid crowds, go early in the morning (9 or 10am).

Tucked away in a bustling hawker centre, this gem of a dish is definitely not one you'd want to miss. For those of you unfamiliar with Sarawak's famous Kolo mee, it's a noodle based dish coated with its own unique sauce and often topped with roasted pork. I've never tried the original Kolo Mee in Sarawak but I've had friends who have that vouch for the originality of this stall. Be sure to ask for their original BBQ sauce (photo shown is without BBQ sauce) with the noodles to get an even more awesome experience. They often run out by 1pm, so be sure to get there before that! Nestled in the ever busy SS15, this fried rice stall has been around for ages. The reason will become apparent the moment you sink into their flavourful fried rice. The stall is owned by a middle aged couple that cook up a storm around lunch time almost every day especially due to the massive amount of college students in SS15. Therefore be sure to either come early (11am), late (2pm) or be prepared to wait for 45 minutes to an hour. For RM5.50, you get a small portion of fried rice topped with a sunny side up egg which only makes the dish so much more drool worthy. Lastly, don't forget to try their homemade chilli sauce that comes together with the rice! (:

PJ, Selangor. I do my best to recommend food that I myself love. (: Instagram @JustinJookJingo
