Love this Satay burger at The Quarters. Marinated chicken thigh between crisp rice patties with a delicious Satay sauce! Good stuff.

$13.90++ for an 8-piece tempura don, with chawanmushi on the side is ridiculously cheap. And you'll definitely be full, because they're generous with the tempura: 2 chicken fillets, 2 shrimp, 1 shiitake, 1 lady's finger, 1 sweet potato, 1 corn. Oh and a deep-fried tamago! I could do without the slow-moving queues, but I've no complaints about the food. But why oh why, does a mug of NON-REFILLABLE green tea cost $3.80++? When there's also iced water on the house? To upsell to the $9++ beer? Okay, I'd have taken the bait if I'd known earlier that the tea's not refillable. X=
PS. Oh why is the location name backwards?

No eggceptions, this elicites an eggciting eggsplosion of eggxtraordinary flavour. Molten yolk cradled in soft smoky white that yields instantly to your first bite. Most eggcellent.
I also got the Pomme Fromage ($6) which is a delightful cheesecake with apricot sauce. The Mille Feuille is definitely nicer to look at but the cheesecake was the one that stole my heart. Thanks @dairyandcream for the recommendation!
Sum Yi Tai's famous char siew is good, but my heart still belongs to Foong Kee. Even Char is still one step behind. And them crispy salmon skin need a more generous hand with the salted egg yolk sauce. *grumbles*

I'm so so so happy to discover that this stall actually opens on Saturday, because it's the dish that I miss most after I stopped working at Raffles Place. It's a breakfast-only item on weekdays (the shop sells soy sauce chicken rice in the afternoon), but apparently it's available till about 2pm on Saturdays. I can never get over how flavourful the bee hoon is on its own, and it just gets even more amazing with those cubes of lard and slivers of meat.
No jaunts to Boat Quay will ever be complete without a scoop! I'm still hoping they'll bring back the Goat Cheese flavour though. *crosses fins*
Drury Lane ups their game by moving beyond run-of-the-mill brunch items and their new main courses. The balsamic and beer-braised beef ($20) is pretty tender and it's a hefty portion. I think half of this would suffice for me! But it's the truffle quinoa risotto that stole the show, and I'd easily give up a quarter of the meat for more risotto. =D I loved the smoked trout croissant with avocado, mushrooms and herbed cream cheese ($12, and pretty darn hearty) as well as the sweet corn fritters with brown butter scrambled eggs, herbed yoghurt, avocado and smoked trout ($18). With the new menu, Drury Lane seems like a more affordable and down-to-earth version of The Lokal.
Panda food for Fridate | Potato sandwich and NEW* soup on the menu; Celeriac soup (Puree of Celery Root) such a beautiful combination with thyme in the soup.
