Located next to Jewel Cafe + Bar on Rangoon Road, yogurt joint The Cold Pantry has recently revamped their menu. They now offer both yogurt and soft serve options, as well as a variety of quirky flavoured speciality waffles. If you're in the mood for something savoury, go for the mildly spicy Mexican Nachos or the chicken Bak Kua Meltz waffles (both $10). For those with a sweet tooth, go for the Kaya Toast or Sea-salt Caramel waffles (both $8), or go big with the signature Chocolate Root Beer waffle with charcoal vanilla ice cream and drizzled with homemade root beer sauce ($12.50) — it's a sinful treat you won't regret having!

European food aficionados can keep their budget in check with FYR, the newest casual dining restaurant in the CBD offering 3-course lunch deals under $29++ with happy hour drinks from $7.80 and open for dinner as well. We had modern European grilled meats and seafood influenced by Asian spices, and ended our dinner with this indulgent dessert made with the combination of pistachio lava cake and homemade pandan ice cream, shared with good company but one dessert is just never enough.

Situated at Kreta Ayer, the newly opened Les Delices (which translates to "The Delights") intriguingly pairs Chinese tea -- both hot and cold brew options are available -- with French choux pastries and cakes. Their signature choux pastry come in flavours such as Earl Grey Milk Tea, Valrhona Chocolate and Matcha, while cakes currently include the Mango Charlotte and Berry Popping Cheesecake. Go for the Lemon Strawberry Rosette and Earl Grey Milk Tea Choux!

Situated within POMO in the Dhoby Ghaut area, Montana Brew Bar serves a variety of burgers, waffles, sandwiches, and pastries. On the coffee front, Montana offers artisanal coffee blends -- from single origin roasts to their own special house blend. They boast a rather extensive waffle selection, both savoury (think Truffle Mac & Cheese) and sweet (Waffle Suzette, Cinnamon Apple Pie, Strawberry Fields). Go for the Southern Fried Chicken Waffle Sandwich and Red Velvet Waffle Stack! Prices are very reasonable.

While Mad About Sucre primarily does European-style bespoke tiered cakes, they also offer exquisite bakes at their sophisticated, Parisian-inspired cafe shopfront. Their Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef leads the baking team in achieving sweetness through creative combinations of ingredients, resulting in aesthetically stunning creations that never fail to indulge the senses. Notably, their cakes are served in courses, with the light-tasting cakes always served before the heavier ones - that is the extent of Mad About Sucre's dedication to delivering the perfect gustatory experience. Go for the Coco Citron, a combination of lemon curd and coconut mousse, and the San Domingue, an intriguing creation of rum, dark chocolate and bananas.

Pretty pricey for $12 but the cake was really moist and lovely with a rich chocolate taste! It would be better if there was more cake to go with the flowing egg custard and melted chocolate.

Even more when they are Red Velvet with cream cheese filling, topped with ice cream.

PS. Cafe is one of my favorite for a late night dessert date. The one at Dempsey opens till midnight and it's so convenient should hunger strikes in wee hours. The sticky date pudding is one of my favorite at Ps. Cafe, definitely a sinful dish :)

Priced at $5, this mango shaved ice can cool you down especially in the recent humid days in sunny island Singapore:)

This variant comes with Cotton Candy, Jelly Beans and the standard soft-serve. Soft serve was still creamy and comes with a tinge of sweetness, but the Cotton Candy kinda melts in the soft-serve if mixed in. Jelly Beans were kinda stiff and rubbery, possibly stiffened in the cold soft-serve hence making chewing a rather tiresome experience to the mouth.

Don't be put off by its color like I first did. I was really taken aback by its outlook. I mean I know I ordered green milk tea but not literally right?!? I was thinking maybe it was matcha? However, one sip and I was totally won over. The tea was refreshing and has a very fragrant tea taste! Not soon later, I finished this whole cup by myself.

This waffle is crisp on the outside and REALLY fluffy and light inside! Paired with really good quality vanilla ice-cream (with visible specks of vanilla bean) and a delicious salted caramel sauce that is the perfect balance of sweet and savoury... It's waffle heaven! 😋
