SG: All-time faves

Not Malaysia standard of course (maybe about 65%), and the MTM is not cooked inside the claypot, but this dish is really very difficult to find in SG. The crispy pork lard and the killer sambal doesn't hurt either! Even tho the MTM isn't very prominently featured on the very cluttered menu, I think it is the best dish at this chain (several locations). Their ipoh hor fun is surprisingly bad for a signature dish.

These are mind blowing. Shoestring fries (my fave!) slathered with mentaiko mayo (also my fave!), then torched to give that extra smokiness. Plus spring onions for a spicy green kick. Even better than the oysters (which are fat and juicy btw). A bit expensive for fries maybe but take my money anyway !!!!

💡: if you run out of mentaiko mayo you'll need to pay extra for another serving which is sad. They don't stock any chilli or ketchup either.

Casual sushi-ya that won't break the bank. If you can overlook the occasional veiny cut of fish it's pretty good value. Thick rude cuts :) similar to chikuwatei. Family / neighborhood type of atmosphere so don't expect fancy service.

This time a bit mushier than usual but still wonderfully crispy on the outside. Recommended if you like your carrot cake soft and tasty, in minute pieces.

soon huat 02-18. one of the cheapest tastiest lor mee around. and I don't even really like lor mee. for best results, mix the flat lor mee with thin beehoon, and douse liberally with garlic and vinegar.

still prefer the chocolate one ($18++). can't really taste the liquor in this , and it doesn't come w ice cream :(

possibly the last time eating here, they are closing for good in June 2013 :(
