Salt-baked chicken thigh sausage rice served in a wrapper is moist and well-marinated with herbs and sea salt. It was baked till golden brown and fork tender with bursting savoury sweet and salty flavours. The chilli sauce by the side makes a good dip.
Their signature noodle consists of two bite-sized abalone, scallop, fried fishball, pork slices, minced pork, half tamago egg and pork lard. The noodles were cooked to a springy and firm texture with mild spiciness.

Everything was good except the abalone, which was quite tough to chew.

Taste of food feels very homey.However, we think the portion of the salt baked chicken is a bit high for the size ($13). Maybe we should have tried their noodles with abalone. First time trying salt baked chicken in Singapore so dont have any refernce to compare to. Quite like it but dont think I will return unless its to try their noodles.
Must-try definitely includes their signature abalone noodles and salt-baked chicken, especially the latter with lap cheong rice.
But there’re more to check out here. The fried mackerel and braised chicken feet we had were outstanding. Mackerel was fresh, crispy out and still moist inside; and the chicken feet simply disintegrated in the mouth. And their deep fried crispy flounder was addictively good.
They’ve also innovated with new dishes, such as spaghetti for their abalone noodles or their premium abalone Jeju soups which unfortunately was unavailable when we visited.
With a long history and standing strong, Lam’s our local name that deserves our supports.
