North Indian dinner kinda night!

I had Khansama a few evenings ago and am glad I finally tried something new: the spiced cauliflower and potatoes dish, Aloo Gobi/ Alu Gobhi ($12.50). Well-seasoned, this comforting dish marries tender potatoes and cauliflower with a blend of aromatics, cooked with onions and tomatoes. With little to no spicy kick, it was wonderfully moreish, and the medley of textures was very enjoyable.

And of course, it is not North Indian dinner if I don’t get Butter Chicken and Naan. I love Butter Chicken but I have not tried all that many as I am usually afraid of the differing spice level so for Khansama’s rendition ($19.50) it is a little spicy and more savoury than sweet. Not overly buttery and quite spice-forward (I do prefer sweeter more buttery variants so I would say this is more balanced and not too cloying). The chicken chunks were tender and flavourful, perfect with their warm and fragrant Garlic Butter Naan ($4.50). Overall, it was pricey for the portion but the items we tried were tasty and boldly seasoned.

The design of the menu needs some work. There's 3 possible places this could have came up, and weirdly enough it's not in the biryani part. Even the waiter couldn't find it on the menu, we found it ourselves later knowing that it has to be there(think it's under mutton dishes)

Pretty good, mutton was tender and doesn't have much gaminess

Solid rendition, creamy and prominent but not overwhelming tomato taste. Ckn was tender too

Better CFM w the waiter, we only intended to order one

Not too shabby, but it will lose its crisp in the Aircon room

I don't wanna sound insensitive, but they don't actually taste that different. I'm glad there's some burnt parts, it's quite crispy and the texture was tender enough. It's very salty though, that's quite a problem, maybe they brined the ckn that's why
