This is, without a doubt, the most flavourful, punchy version of biryani around.
.
Serving since 1921, the 3rd generation owners behind this Turkish-royalty inspired version has long-grain basmati rice infused with a secret blend of spices.
.
Each mouthful of the loose fluffy grains is a burst of grainy spice sweet savoury, seemingly a complex layer of more than 10 spices. Intense yet addictive.
.
The tender chunks of mutton fall apart softly, releasing robust meaty savoury salty spice flavours. Crunchy spiced cucumbers with vegetal sweet spice notes on the side.
.
A medium dalcha curry rounds this out, but the rice is tasty enough on its own, and in fact holds more flavour than the curry.
.
Little wonder this 100-year old establishment is frequented by royalty and celebrities.

Really good mutton briyani which had really fragrant rice and tender mutton. A bit pricey but a decent portion so itβs quite worth the price tag!
got the chicken one. good when mixed with gravy. sambal prawns was good too. no idea about the price of the other dishes ordered by my boss. only know this rice is 10. #islamicrestaurant #briyani #powerpluspac #powerpluspacxlocal #burpple #sgfood
My favorite place to dine in when iβm craving for a beryani dam where the mutton hide itself beneath the fragrant beryani rice and it comes with a dalcha curry and the cucumber acar.
For the side order, i love the tomato pachady ($2.50-1 pc). The sweetness of the tomato and slices of cashews complete everything.
Chicken π Briyani Set (I have seen biryani, beryani, breyani ππ ) ππ»πisn't it briyani? Anyhoos, this was some the juicy, n the tender, n the plump chicken thigh that was served with the nasi, with the fragrant-licious curry! I think there were succulent slices of eggplants π in either one of the curry; Whoaaa they & the ACHAR!! were da bombz ! ππΌππΌπππΌπππΌππΌ I guess the right cooking methods really bring out the best flavors from nature foods! Yummeh !! π π¦π¦ curry chefs for Prata should consider loading em' good with some good ole π; ππ so it's approved β if you order a set (@$13 I think) you get a fragrant local coffee/tea, a small serving of achar and an appam! Quite the deal lor, imo! πππ better still if you are seated upstairs, very vintage-y & a bit of titanic living room feel β΄β΄π the combi is either chicken or mutton briyani btw!
$13 would get you this Beryani set accompanied with Dachar, Achar and papadum. Everything you really need to satisfy that Indian craving in a comfortable air conditioned environment.
