Always loved the sashimi sushi here with their special citrus ichiban sauce! Wish there were more sashimi given.
We ordered this purely because we love lobsters. It is not a hard choice when comparing against the other 2 sushi rolls (Unagi salmon roll & Salmon mentai Roll). ππ¦
.
According to the menu, we should have Lobster salad, fried crab stick, avocado, cucumber, flying fish roe & mayonnaise. We hardly detect lobster in the roll but the strip of cucumber at the top make each roll so refreshing that we forgot to ask where your lobster friends are!!π
.
P.S. we think what keep people coming back to this place is its ambience (private sofa seating) & friendly service. However, $$wise, we think there are better valued & yummier Japanese eateries in town. πββοΈπββοΈπ‘ (Total spending: $50/2 pax)
Kaisen Don is one type of well known βChirashi Sushiβ. The difference lies in the rice (kaisen use steam rice instead of vinegared sushi rice used in Chirashi Sushi). π€
We can notice typical toppings in this Kaisen Bara Don (Osaka version): salmon, tuna & swordfish sashimi, egg, cucumber. We ordered 2 sets and each set comes with miso soup.
.
Just feel that the set lacks some exciting ingredients (we have seen all these sushi toppings before) and some seasoning in rice (maybe avocado cube might help) to match up with price tag. Having said that, this is a healthy set and will suit someone who loves clean eating!! ππͺ

My all-time favorite at Ichiban. The set meal comes with rice, chawanmushi, miso soup, fruit and assorted tempura. Paid an additional $2 to change the beef to pork.
Ordered this hot stone garlic rice with diced salmon on top.($11.90) Not that bad of a price, because there's a small bowl of salad and miso soup. These sets are not that pricey but if you eat sushi on the roller without stopping yourself. It can turn out expensive. 1 plate = $2.40
