Best matcha I have ever tried in Singapore!

Read rave reviews about this place so we were here to try! This coffeehouse was sooo crowded even on a late weekend afternoon (jus ~30mins before closing time)! Was shocked by the amount of crowd here!

Got the signature iced matcha creamu ($8.9)

Very interesting drink! Was recommended to eat the cream by itself with the spoon provided first! the matcha latte was thick and the sweetness and bitterness were nicely balanced! Thoroughly enjoyed this cup of iced matcha, I must say one of the better ones I have ever had in Singapore! Take my money!!

My only gripe about this place is the lack of seats (we actually sat at the seats next door that belonged to another restaurant that was closed then)

not super gao but still enjoyable! expensive tho🥲 my fav part of this drink is def the cute dollop of cream on top

Finally made our way to hellu coffee for their famed Matcha Creamu! I’m all for how cute it looks, but I wasn’t a fan of how it leaned a lot more sweet and milky 🥺 Found the matcha a tad too powdery and it was very overpriced for its portion. Props to the friendly service staff though!

Got my usual office mid-day peak-me-up, Hellu Coffee’s signature Matcha Creamu as well as their Sesame Cream Croffle ($7.90) for the very first time. I must admit I wasn’t very sure about the sesame cream as it was pretty light in colour (it's a far cry from the thick and dark goma paste we are familiar with). However, their rendition was spot on, not too in the face with the nuttiness yet distinctive and flavourful. The airy, smooth cream infused with specks of sesame was earthy and wonderfully fragrant - great with the delicately crisp-chewy and buttery croffle.

As coffee aficionados, we ordered the Black Creamu ($8.20) and the White Creamu ($8.70 for iced). Aesthetically IG-worthy as they came atop with dollops of smooth sweet cream and dusted with cocoa powder. The Plain Croffle ($5.50) was buttery sweet with a light crisp to it and a slightly chewy texture.

$7.50
Matcha was really smooth. The Cream on top is slightly sweet and doesn’t taste greasy. But it’s quite a small cup for the price tag…
