Tuck into homely traditional Hakka dishes at this popular spot. House specialities like the aromatic Yam Abacus (from RM14.90), yam balls stir-fried with tofu, onion and leeks, and the Hakka Stuffed Beancurd Ball (RM14.90) both warrant double orders. Lei Cha fans will be glad to know that Hakka Rang doles out a delicious version with a flavourful soup – the RM11.90 portion is sufficient for two! Pro tip: Reservations are highly recommended for dinner, or come slightly later for a fuss-free meal.

Can’t come here and not order this dish. While I’m not the biggest fan of leicha, I really enjoyed this one. Lots of fresh and raw veggies and that soup, super rich and flavourful. Ps. This feeds two!

Don’t remember the exact name of the dish but damn it was good. Spicy and creamy curry resembling a Nyonya curry, filled with fish slices and veggies. We really enjoyed this one!

Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to try this Hakka restaurant in my backyard. Affordable, tasty and friendly service – a new favourite spot with the fam. Had to order this and was very satisfied. Perfect fried eggs with a sweet tomato sauce and chunky tomato bits. Love love love!

At dinner, you'll spot the crowd before you see this corner-lot restaurant. Wait patiently for your turn – it's worth it. Expect traditional Hakka dishes and some local favourites at pocket-friendly prices. Burppler XingWei Cheang stuck to the classics with her order of Lui Cha (RM13.50), Yam Abacus (RM14.90) and Stuffed Beancurd Ball (RM3 a piece). The latter was her favourite with “fluffy tofu soaking up all the flavourful broth like a sponge and was jam-packed with juicy minced meat.” Also find single-portion rice and noodles dishes like the Hakka Rang Noodles (RM9.90) with al dente egg noodles topped with savoury minced pork.

✨: I absolutely loved the stuffed beancurd ball -- the fluffy tofu soaked up all the flavourful broth like a sponge and was jam-packed with juicy minced meat. I was instantly hit with nostalgia as the dish was once a family favourite (until our neighbourhood Hakka restaurant shut down :”)) This was also the first time I had abacus seeds. I’m definitely a fan of the bouncy bite and the fragrant flavour brought about the dish by the five-spice tofu, onion, and leeks. ⁣

💬: I did find the abacus seeds a tad too salty, though. As for the Lei Cha, I was sadly disappointed. I found the soup quite bland and diluted. The toppings, too, didn’t add much flavour. It was as if every element of the dish tasted of a single note.⁣

I’ll definitely find a time to come back for their other meaty offerings such as the 炸肉 and the 猪脚醋!⁣
