Just hazarding a guess but I suspect this dish may have gotten its name due to the fact that this small but popular Turkish eatery that never sleeps(it’s open 24 hours a day) must serve its fair share of club-goers with the late night munchies.

No one’s going to sleep hungry with this plate laden to the edges with grilled halloumi, kofte, hummus, both spicy and garlic sauces, as well as some goddamned fine falafels. Beware the tiny green peppers on top, because they pack a spicy kick.

Gel Gor is a Neukoln institution that supposedly serves the best Kofte sandwich in Berlin, and I’m inclined to agree. The handmade mini meat sausages are tender and moist, packed together with a ton of fresh herbs, onion, tomato and garlic sauce in an amazingly crisp yet fluffy halved Turkish bread. Skip the insane queues at Mustafa Kebab and come here.
