While I love French beans, it was not our first choice. Sin Choy Kee is one of the few restaurants which serves Pucuk Paku, a type of local fern. That was our first choice. It is difficult to find and absolutely yummy. Sin Choy Kee serves it with salted egg. You can imagine my disappointment when we were told they had no stock ðŸ˜.

We then decided to have baby French beans. Their reply was that their French beans were very small 😂. Oh well ... it was still fried well, firm to the bite and yummy.

Zi char in Ipoh is really cheap and good. We ordered 6 dishes - mantis shrimp, sting ray curry, pork ribs, tofu and 2 vegetables - for 10 people and we only paid 144 ringgit.
