Their Birds Avocado & Crab bruschetta has a very unique refreshing taste with a pleasant sharp bright flavor from the sichuan guacamole and spring onion toppings.
Another of the good starters is Find the Chicken in the Chilies. The chunky meat is deep fried leaving traces of xiang la fragrance and not at all greasy.
This is probably my ultimate favorite for the night, Barramudi Chazuke. Pan seared fillet in classic Sichuan sour vegetable fish broth. It is comforting and appetizing with that little warm tangy-ness tingling your appetite.
Pairing all the food with a glass of cocktails is a wise decision. Their cocktails were surprisingly good! I had their Roman Holiday cocktail, vodka base, with mint, apple and egg white. I like how the cocktail has the sweet lingering apple flavor. A very well balanced with depth kind of cocktail.

"Crispy Gyoza x Truffle Soy Vinaigrette" definitely a must-order! "Find the Chicken in the Chillies" for mala lovers, chicken was cooked so well. "The Forbidden Risotto" tasted great but was quite small in portion for the price.
This classic Sichuan dish of La Zi Ji is executed beautifully at BOAF. The meaty chunks of chicken are fried to a crisp perfection and perfumed with the aroma of Sichuan peppercorn and garlic.
Love their name! This was probably one of the best dishes that night. We ordered two servings of this! You really gotta look for the chicken pieces tho, there weren’t many but really juicy and crispy at the same time. It’s a must order for me.
Still loving ‘Find the chicken in the chillies’ dish. Truffle gyoza was definitely one of my favourite thus far. Generally not a cheese and bread lover, so did not really enjoy the grilled cheese panini. Crispy Pork Trotter in a bag was apparently one of the popular dish as it was really crispy on the outside.
An oldie but a goodie is their 辣子鸡, crisp and tender cubes of chicken buried under a mound of chillies, peppercorns, soft, creamy bulbs of garlic and leeks. Try hard not to polish off a whole plate of this addictively lip-numbing, spicy goodness on your own.

Ahhh, the heat from a good ol’ la zi ji. Adorably named, they were actually pretty generous with the chicken so you won’t have problems picking crisp, tender chunks of meat from the pile of chilli, peppercorns, leeks and garlic (dat garlic yuuuum).😛Deffo a side dish I’m gonna get again the next time I’m back here.🌶
Dinner companion not the most entertaining? Play a game of 'Find the Chicken in the Chillies' ($16), a treasure trove of fiery fried chicken bits and Sichuan chilli peppers. It's tongue-numblingly spicy enough to leave you feeling hot and bothered, which is a great excuse to order a cocktail, or two. 😉
Essentially the spiritual sequel to their popular Find the Chicken in the Chillies. Underneath the river shrimp's gently crispy exterior lies a Sensitive New Age Guy-esque masculine softness, and the "mala" heat mileage for the dish varies - the naked river shrimp alone reveals just a feathery tease of sting, whilst a careless spoonful may yield a significantly more insistent numbing and sensuous plumping of the lips. 3.8/5
