First time trying omija tea! Have never heard of it prior to this and it was one of the recommended drinks, interesting because it promised 5 different tastes; sweet, sour, spicy, bitter and salty, all in one cup.

Though i'm not so sure that the promise was fulfilled, as the drink seemed to be lacking any trace of bitterness, i fell in love with the drink upon the first sip, with the myriad of other flavours bursting in my mouth.

Chose to have it iced as we had been trudging around in the merciless weather in our hanboks, but you can also choose to have it hot.

I really loved the ambience in the teahouse. Together with our getup, it felt as if we had really travelled back in time with the beautiful, antique decor. The presence of other customers in modern clothing was the only factor reminding us of the time and age we were really living in😅

This required a 20mins wait, but we were totally fine with it because the place was so insta-worthy, time passed really quick while we were busy taking photos!😹

Was surprised by the dense and sticky texture of the cake, as i had initially expected it to be soft and chiffon-y. It carried the characteristic chewiness of tteok, which i guess hence the "rice cake" instead of "chiffon cake" 😹 kind of reminded me of traditional chinese fortune cakes!

I didn't mind it at all though. Rather, i loved it, especially when consumed hot, as it became hard as the cake cooled. The steamed rice cake also carried a tinge of natural sweetness of pumpkins. A super great snack to pair with some tea😊👍🏻
