[CLOSED] Amelia's

Checked out this new takeaway bakery at Tampines which seems to have a focus on desserts and pastries with apples as a key ingredient. There were other stuff available, such as an Apple Custard Pie, Tofu Cheesecake with Apples, Apple Cupcakes; the list just goes on.

Settled for the Apple Pound Cake and Apple Cream Puffs — the former was a moist but slightly dense cake with chunks of soft apple within; decent though nothing much to shout about and probably could do with slightly bigger chunks of apple for more bite. The latter was not too appealing; the puff pastry itself was a little bit dry while the cream felt a little clotted and bland — doesn't really match up in my idea of a cream puff. The chunks of apple are bigger here than in the Apple Pound Cake, but it would be better if they could probably include a little caramel (caramalised chunks of apple, anyone?) to help lift the sweetness a bit.
