Located in a small corner shop on the second floor across from Hong Lim hawker centre, the pretty logo of this little bakery was what first caught my eye. So I decided to pick up two of the more interesting-sounding Swiss rolls to try: the "Imperial Chocolate Roll" and the "Lychee Vodka".
Measuring 29cm in length, with a cross-section that's about 6cm tall by 8cm wide (yes, I used a ruler 🤓!), both fat bolsters of sponge cake were stuffed with a generous amount of flavoured fresh cream. I didn't find the "Imperial Chocolate" roll "chocolatey" enough but it's still likeable due to the many little crunchy choc balls within. The "Lychee Vodka" would be the one I'd buy again in a heartbeat. Although the taste of alcohol wasn't apparent, it was fragrant with vanilla while the pieces of lychee were plentiful, juicy and sweet.
The variant I wouldn't mind trying next is the "Rum & Raisin" ($10). Durian lovers, there's one with your name on it for the same price too. In addition to these, the shop has a couple of "basic" flavours such as "Chocolate" priced at $8 as well.
If you are looking for a value-for-money afternoon treat or a light dessert to end a meal with, these Swiss rolls might just do the trick.
