A spin on the classic, the comté cheese adds another dimension of flavour to the ensemble. It’s certainly worth a try but it’s hard to justify the price tag for something short of spectacular. Perhaps a spicier otah would go a long way.

Chunks of luscious foie gras with a raspberry dip and pieces of toast to mop up all those juices. While the quality of the foie varies, it’s pretty much an affordable piece of bliss. Simply put, it in your mouth.

Checking boxes off a list including Hokkien Mee, Oyster Omelette, White Carrot Cake, Black Carrot Cake and Char Kway Teow (not pictured), the last of which is apparently the main attraction here. The verdict? The carrot cake takes the... uh, cake. Overall none of the dishes are bad but neither is there a shining star. A decent option for your local grub.

Time to get creamed with Everton Creamery’s Pistachio and Dark Chocolate gelato. Some pretty decent and solid scoops with maple syrup on the side make for some serious waffle lovin’. I mean, pistachio ice cream with pistachio nut bits? I’m sold, and you should be too. Now, who’s that whispering about dark chocolate fantasies...

A little birdy whispered in my ear: " A plate of meat for you & you & you & you my dear." For just $39.80 you get a smorgasbord of meaty goodness - chicken, fish and beef along with three sides of your choice! Perfect for 4-5 people, or a smaller party looking for big gains. This is only available on Mondays after 9pm for a limited period so it's best to head down soon. Just a pep talk before you do: it's not quality but quantity on the agenda, so go BIG or don't turn up at all ;)

It's creamy and luscious with a generous serving of prawns and a decent kick of tom yum. However this can get pretty cloying real fast because of the richness of the sauce and towards the end it's just a battle against the jelat-ness. Thankfully, what's a pretty 'meh' dish is enlivened by the colours on the plate. Guess that's reason enough to give this a try.

salted egg yolk slathered-everything has become a staple on zi char menus across the island, yet most can only muster clumpy salted egg yolk sauce which dries up pretty quickly. this however, is liquid gold. remember to slurp up every last bit of that sauce, it's just so addictive!

A really good egg tart with solid, fragrant pastry. The filling to pastry ratio is just right although the filling falls flat - lacking the aroma and texture to match the quality pastry. Despite this, it's pretty good stuff and definitely worth your calories, all packed into a gorgeous and sleek box. A worthy contender but my top pick would still be Tong Heng. Just casually keeping a lookout for the next challenger...

Besides the incredibly delish truffle lava egg here, they serve up some pretty decent protein waffles and muffins. Just look at that chocolate dip go drip drip drip

The longest line in the hawker centre after 1pm for a stall with minimum spending of $5 - the people know what's up. For a premium hawker centre price of $24.90, you get fresh seafood - an entire lobster, two big prawns and many lala clams (they must be serving up thousands of these clams a day!). Just imagine the sweetness of the broth... it takes 45mins to get it, you pile on the cholesterol, but heck it's worth it

Ordered pork belly skewers and certainly did not expect this to show up! It's not all fat, there's solid lean meat in there too. Paired with a sweet dipping sauce, ooh ~ Luscious belly.. SHIOK!!

'Best bagels in Bangkok'? Pick a flavour (from about 8!) to match with the filling - the classics like lox to their own house creations. The bagel to filling ratio is pretty decent, and the bagels are pretty dense and solid. Get your chomp on in the AM right here.
