Enjoy all-day brunch fare, hearty mains and gorgeous desserts with your best friends amidst tranquility at this riverside cafe by Punggol Waterway. Whisk & Paddle offers unobstructed views of the resevoir with good food and drink to boot -- a much-needed respite at any time of day. For brunch, dig into comforting dishes like Eggs Ben with Smoked Salmon on Waffles, or a warm pan of Mac and Cheese. For a sweet treat, choose from their range of desserts in their display, and sit back with a cuppa to enjoy the view. If you can't decide, opt for the Berries Rose Tart, or the humble Earl Grey Lavender Loaf. By night, wind down and swop out the desserts and coffee for bar bites and ice cold beer!

Had high expectations for the highly raved rainbow cheesecake but the cheesecake (as much as it looks pretty) was a disappointment. The cheesecake is a little too wobbly for my liking (perhaps because it was served too early) however the crust of the cheesecake was the saving grace. Love the cute pancakes as well! Didn't really fancy the highly recommended Yuan Yang cake too. Overall a pretty good experience because I really enjoyed the service and the old school vibe of the best place.

Had the signature Lady Hyde and love the fusion of this dish. Love the unique flavor of this dish and how the elements complement one another. However the rather small serving portion and the long waiting time for the food might be reasons why I won't be back any time soon.

There's too many variants of waffles we had seen everywhere; ice-cream waffles, fried chicken waffles and even chocolate waffles, but 23Jumpin does a variant that is refreshing in the scene. Combining waffles and pizza, the Pizza Waffles comes in two flavours currently; Mushroom & Cheese and a Hawaiian. Sitting atop a crisp and moist waffle that's full of buttery aroma, you could actually taste the batter even though it comes with a generous portion of cheese for both flavours. Mushroom & Cheese was creamy and earthy; pretty rich and should appeal to those who love their mushrooms. My personal favourite was the Hawaiian which comes with tomato sauce spread, topped with ham and pineapples. The juicy cubes of pineapple does the trick with its zestiness which gives the Pizza Waffle a refreshing flavour boost. Fancy both flavours? You can order a Yuan Yang where you get to have both just like how I did. Thanks to owner Gary who invited me down to try out their newest creation served on their menu.

Comfort food for the soul. Love everything about this place - the food, the ambience, the space. Definitely worth a second visit, in fact I can't wait to go back for more!

Whoever said you can only get good pasta at fancy Italian restaurants has not yet discovered the food at Ah Bong's Italian. Located in a humble coffeeshop in Tiong Bahru Estate, this stall serves up some mean Italian pasta - for just $6! For some perfect comfort food, get the Slow Cooked Pork Ragu, Ah Bong's Birthday Pasta (spaghetti served with broccoli cheese sauce and bacon) or Ah Bong’s Mac & Cheese with truffle oil. End off your meal with some unique crème brûlée - with flavours extending to earl grey, triple espresso, and Thai milk tea. Their incredibly satisfying, extremely affordable and regularly changing menu will keep you coming back!

Determined to bring the bagel craze to Singapore, the fine gentlemen behind this new bagel establishment pride themselves in their freshly baked bagels handrolled with love. Cafes dedicated to serving these incredibly underrated breads are rare, but you can rest assured that Two Men Bagel House does it right. If you subscribe to the 'simple is best' philosophy, you can opt for a plain/ classic salmon dill cream cheese bagel. But since you're in a bagel house, after all, you can afford to be a little more adventurous. Go for the incredibly vibrant LOX - cured salmon, cream cheese, red onions, dill and capers, atop perfectly crisp yet chewy bagel halves. Want it more brunch-style? Have bagels with bacon and poached eggs too!

Not a durian lover but this durian mousse is so rich in flavor it deserves a thumbs up. Not forgetting the aiyu mango with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which is equally awesome
