At first glance, all you see is a spoonful of chilli sitting on a little mound of pale noodles. Not the best first impression. However, upon mixing, you'll find a treasure cove of wantons, char siew and vegetables hidden beneath, and the chilli-mixed noodles begin to look more appetising than ever. If you love your wanton mee, this 24/7 spot ensures you almost never have an excuse not to visit.
One of the better food offered in SIM for $3.20 the soup is the main point.
Pretty big slab of chicken chop for $6, it was juicy and tender, well grilled throughout. It also comes with 3 sides - cheesy pasta, baked potato and onion rings which was all delicious.
Pros:
- Large variety of dim sum
- Affordable
- Decent or better, flavor-wise
Cons:
- While most items are hits, some are misses.

One of my fave place to go for waffles. Their yummy waffles paired with salted caramel ice cream (my fave) I could easily finish one full waffle by myself even after a heavy dinner. I would also order their root beer cake whenever I'm there 👍👍
There's something about waffles that I cannot resist and must order whenever I see it on the menu. Ordered my waffle with a scoop of yuzu sherbet (outsourced). There's still room for improvements for the waffles 😅
Pandan ice cream waffles with Gula Melaka ($8.9) - the waffles were crispy and full of eggy fragrance, the Gula Melaka sauce that was just the right amount of sweetness went well with the waffles. The flavor of the pandan ice cream however, was very subtle and it didn't quite work for me, tasted a little weird after a while.
Smoked sawdust pudding ($5) - I LOVE THIS!!! The pudding was light and tasted a lot like milk, the crumbs that came along with it was soft and airy 😌👍
Chef Janice Wong pushes the boundaries of conventional desserts by creating tantalising sweets that look like edible works of art. True to its name, 2am dessertbar opens until 2am, seeking to satisfy your late night dessert cravings and desire for sweet, sinful indulgence. Located in the extremely happening Holland Village, this may be the perfect place for those birthday countdown celebrations, no?
For good dim sum sold at coffeeshop prices, many come here for their super-flowy liu sha bao, but items such as the siew mai or har kow may not be up to restaurant standards. Also try their steamed beancurd roll and steamed carrot cake. Bear in mind it's located in an eating house, so don't expect comforts!
Situated at the basement of Concorde Hotel, this Korean stall is very popular at lunch and dinner times. The spicy chicken soup set comes highly recommended at $6.50, along with their potato pancake at $3.50. If you're in town and craving some authentic Korean food, look no further than the distinct blue signboard with a line of people queuing for some good food.
Small, cramped, long queue, faster order, faster pay, faster eat. That about sums up victor's, an extremely down-to-watch eatery that promises you a real hk vibe
With pretty reasonable prices of $3 to $6 per basket, east ocean has beautiful ambience, great service and quality of food.
