It’s certainly one of the better ones around, and if you’re craving it, they are now delivering island wide. Plus if you you order via https://kamsroast.oddle.me, and use the code NEWFEAST, you get a 15% discount.
You will also get a free portion of Immune Boosting Herbal Soup ($6.80) with every order. Tasted it, it’s yums!

If you’re healthy and have not been to any high risk areas, gather a few friends (no more than 10 please!) and head to Red Eye Smokehouse at Jalan Baser for some amazing meats.
We had the juicy USDA Angus Beef Brisket, and the short ribs, and Duroc Pork Ribs.
Then there were sides of Mashed Potatoes with stout gravy & bone marrow butter, Corn bread with honey butter, an excellent coleslaw and Burnt end beans.
If that’s too intimidating, order the platter where you’ll get the best of everything.

So I ended up at Desa Rancapanggung for nasi padang.
Many things were sold out by about 12.45pm, so was not able to try their popular dishes such as beef rendang and Mee rebus. Instead, had chicken curry, sambal goreng and a too-sweet mussels dish.
My lunch date had fried chicken, egg sambal and veg.
Our total: $10.50.

The char siew was gloriously fatty and not too sweet, and the roast pork has a crispy cap and moist.
I ordered a wanton noodle too, which was ok but not earth shattering.
I was early so there were only a few in the queue, but at about 1230, a crowd formed.
It’s a coffee shop so no space for social distancing when queuing or when eating, and I wish the cashier didn’t let out a cough because he wasn’t wearing a mask, but otherwise, it was a delicious experience!

For me, it’s the food. And this is one of my faves: Le Shrimp at the basement of Changi Airport Terminal 3.
The food is as good, and this time I added some sides. Those were not too bad but the main draws - the noodles - were amazing as usual.
Love the friendliness here too, and it’s not that crowded so it’s good for social distancing.
And there’s a 30% discount if you use certain credit cards, though terms and condition apply so better to check the details first.
To those heading to the airport, be sure to take precautions during these times. Life goes on but please be clean, sanitised and sensible.

And when you look outside, you’ll go Wowwwwww.
It is stunning!
And now that Vue is open for lunch, you can get a daytime version of Wow!
It’s as impressive, just with sunlight.
Vue’s 3-course set menu would be the perfect excuse to head up OUE Bayfront.
From $68 a person, you’ll get a variety of choices (some items you’ll have to pay a top up for, because beauty doesn’t come cheap).
My pick from the set is the Norwegian Red King Crab toast. It’s a visual treat that tastes just as good.
The main of grilled Fremantle octopus is good too, as well as the Red Hill House veal shank.
Be sure to order the French Toast for dessert too. That’s worth the calories too.

The place is refined and elegant, one of the loveliest I’ve seen here, with a small menu of Ottoman palace cuisine.
I love the Sultan’s Delight, with grilled meat on a bed of delicious mashed eggplant. There is an organic chicken version too.
Also ordered spinach with yoghurt, and black cabbage rolls (2nd pic). Both were excellent!
I wish I found this earlier but oh well, save it for next time and when the world is less crazy.

Love the freshness, simplicity, and affordability here!
The grilled sea bass was juicy, as was the mullet fish and sea bream. You’ll just need to squeeze some lemon over it and it’s good. Not everything on the menu will be available, which also means whatever they have will be fresh.

I had mine at Halil Lahmacun, on the Asia side of Istanbul and one of the most popular places serving this.
The menu is just the lahmacun (minced meat, onions, vegetables and herbs) and a cheese version.
I did what the guy in the next table did: squeeze lemon on it, add parsley, fold the dough into a square, and eat.
Delicious and the lemon brightened it up. And I think it’s best with buttermilk!

We decided upon this for lunch for practicality because we had a walking tour around the area.
It was a great start to the trip: The lamb kebab was full of flavours (maybe too robust and gamey if you’re into that), and the chicken was seasoned and juicy.
The service and prices worked for me, although if you’re seeking an authentic experience, there seems to be more tourists than locals.

I don’t want to be the one who spoiler it so DM me if you want to know what’s the extra ingredient that gives this a deep smoothness.
Also ordered a piakssant, which is basically a flattened croissant. It was tasty enough but I had a huge lunch so I could barely finish it.
Anyway singer Diya Tan opened this a year ago. So you might be able to catch her there sometimes.
PS: Sanity may be a slight challenge to locate but it’s right across from Michelin One Star restaurant Labyrinth. So you may want to consider dropping in for a pre-dinner coffee.

Is briyani just one of the best things ever??? PS: this is a mutton version from Saffrons. $7.50 a portion, and it’s good enough when you have cravings to satisfy.
