One of the best pancake dishes I’ve had in my life 😭 the pancakes were of a perfect airy texture and went perfectly with the strawberry compote, white chocolate cream, raspberry sorbet and matcha granola.

Was torn between this and the bone marrow pizza but this was a good choice. Generous amounts of mushroom on top of a chewy (in a good way), fluffy pizza base. None of that artificial truffle taste here - it was a lovely fragrance.

Legit crispy, with a nice acidity from the sumac twist. Sumac is one of my fave spices - it can lift an entire dish. The aioli was also very good. May seem pricey at $19 but it was quite a large portion.

This was so good - the slightly spicy sauce had a serious seafood kick. Good bite to the spaghetti as well. A little pricey at $98 but we found that it was more than enough to feed 3 (instead of 2 as stated in the menu), especially if you order a pizza or other starters.

This was so damn good. Skin was super crispy yet the duck meat was juicy and tender. Always thought the French did duck best but this changed my mind.

We were majorly impressed by this. Served piping hot, the crispy fish skin was coated with an amazing salted egg sauce - one of the best we’ve had. Slight pricey at $12 but it was goooood.

Impressed with the food here. The pork was leaner than I would have preferred but it was still juicy and cooked perfectly. The barley risotto, spinach and mushroom at the bottom was 💯. And of course their homemade bread cart and tower of butter 😍

$6 for this large bowl of prawn noodles loaded with small intestines, pork ribs and prawns. Not the sweet, seafood-y kind of broth but more hearty and robust. Yum.

This is my fave item here - crispy and juicy and all around flavourful and better than the xiaolongbaos. We were served by a wizened old lady who has been working there for decades. The last time I went the shop was more rundown and rustic; it is now upgraded and clean and modern. Pity business has dropped a lot because of the construction boarding all around. All the better for us since no crowds to deal with because the food is still great~

Part of Aburiya’s newly launched lunch sets, this was delicious. Melt in the mouth slices of beef and onion with perfectly cooked rice. Even the salad starter was delicious, with a slightly different (but tastier) sesame dressing. $12 nett. This was the original rice bowl but there were some other interesting dishes on the menu, including udon and curry dishes. Will be back!

Generously portioned and super tasty steak rice bowl for $10? Sign me up.

Part of the set lunch, which also included super delicious mixed mushrooms cooked in butter and dessert. One of my favorite places to sneak away to in the CBD for a quiet and indulgent meal. While the set lunches cost upwards of $25, I think the quality makes it worth it. The beef had great char and smokiness while remaining super tender.
