This kbbq place is run by a very hospitable Korean couple. While the place is very simple, the food feels like an authentic Korean taste, especially the side dishes. The place is not that big so better to make a reservation before coming in.

It’s an oomph! Smoked and burnt flavour, combined with the sweet marinated pork in skewers - it’s like a little symphony in your mouth.

A very apt side dish to complement your boat noodle or other rice mains

This ice cream parlour is the secret hideaway for SMU students. Choosing the grape yakult flavour as I am craving something sour and light. Apparently the ice cream is quite smooth as they are using yakult, the sweet-and-sour combination balance each other well. A perfect dessert after your korean chicken dinner or to accompany your kdrama time.

Remember to try the Naughty Fries when coming over to Potato Head! It’s the ultimate level of fried wedges can be. Potato got crunchy skin with some soft and tender inside, topped with spiced bĆ©rnaise, hot beef chilli, oro del masi parmesan, sesame seeds, and of course the bawang goreng. Comfort fusion Indonesian food with Bali-vibe!

For those who prefer a less messy or soggy fries, opt-for separate sauces, just like what I did.

Tldr - will return, especially for the ice cream

A big fan of the blue milk (milk, blue pea, salt) - gentle and milky, the flavour is not overly sweet. Caramelized strawberry gives a fresh berry flavour with a hinge of honey-like caramel.

Wanted to try the charcoal waffle but only left with the original, taste like a typical butter waffle. Will definitely come back for one or two scoops of ice cream.

Arguably the best jjampong in Singapore (at least the one I’ve tried). Chewy noodle, light yet tasty soup, loaded with fresh seafood toppings (sotong, clam, prawn, etc.). It’s a nice to order the jjampong as a break after eating the heavy bbq meat

Ordered the woodfire pizza, spaghettone carbonara, homemade meatballs, cheese platter as well as tiramisu. All of them met my standard but pleasantly surprised to have this meatball as the champion of the night. Crispy outside, tender and juicy inside, wrapped with fresh and light tomato sauce. Buon gusto!

One thing to add is staffs’ hospitality was remarkable - they make the dining experience very enjoyable.

Tldr - the savoury croissant was not bad, but the sweet option is still my go-to

The croissant was crunchy, yet served cold. I prefer my croissant to be warm and soft, with the melted cheese and ham.

Tried this pink lemonade. Taste like normal lemonde, but diluted. Their rosti was ok but nothing stood out.

Found this hidden rooftop bar at the bustling Lor Mambong. The 1st level entrance has the Japanese shrine gate - the rooftop bar is located at the 3rd floor and shared the building with the Keisuke’s duck ramen restaurant at the 2nd floor.

The bar has a wide selection of Japanese whisky. Tried ā€œMomotaroā€ - a combination of sake, vodka, peach liqueur, pineapple and peach juice. Sweet, light, smooth.

Pssttt…Happy Hour is available EVERYDAY - from 17.00-20.00 PM

One of the best tea cold brew I have tried. Can taste the ā€œsmokinessā€ of the sencha. The cold brew is not sweet at all so it is nice way to cleanse your palate after having the flavourful pancake.

Available in both bottle ($9.9) and cup ($5.5). The bottle is suitable for sharing as it is enough for 2-4 people.

Alley on 25 offered both western and oriental selections.

I personally like the oriental selection, as the dimsum platters are quite yummy. The porridge is a bit too flavourful and peppery as I prefer a clean and light porridge for breakfast.

My favourite dish is the laksa - the soup is very rich and creamy, yet does not make you feel ā€˜jelat’. The laksa itself is al-dente, chewy enough yet not soggy. This laksa menu is also available for lunch.
